The Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo is a fun free thing to do in Las Vegas during the day, and as you may know, free daytime activities are hard to come by. We actually first saw the gorgeous habitat from our window table inside the Paradise Garden Buffet in the Flamingo. You can see from the photo below there are large windows to sit by where you can see Flamingo Island with the Chilean flamingos, and a full view of the fish and ducks in the pond.
But to really appreciate the animals and oasis in the Vegas desert, you need to walk through the Wildlife Habitat. They have pelican feedings at 8:30am and 2pm every day, and the bridge below is the perfect spot to see them.
At every turn you’ll see turtles, exotic birds, huge fish, ducks, pelicans, and of course, flamingos. You’ll notice around many of the trees on Flamingo Island that there are misting systems to keep the air moist and the flamingos happy.
You can even have your picture taken with one of the resident parrots.
