With more than 40 million visitors each year and over 2 million residents, it is no surprise that Las Vegas keeps expanding, growing, and pushing the boundaries of development. It seems every time we turn around, there is construction all over the city, whether that be renovations of classic resorts that have been iconic from the beginning or brand new bright and shiny, state-of-the-art developments.
There is a lot coming to Vegas in 2023 and 2024, but one of the exciting, latest developments that are set to begin opening soon is a luxury shopping, dining, and entertainment destination– 63 Las Vegas.
Now we know what you’re thinking… Does Las Vegas really need MORE restaurants, stores, and things to do? Well, that’s ultimately up to you, but we’re pretty excited about it because 63 Las Vegas is shaping up to be unlike your average shopping mall!
63 Las Vegas – The Newest Luxury Shopping & Dining Destination in Sin City
63 Las Vegas has about half its tenants that are set to open for business by the middle of this year (2023), so you can get a sneak peek at the concept, but the project will be fully open by early 2024. It’s great timing, too, because, with the summer heat of Sin City, we will all be looking for some indoor things to do!
At the helm of the project are Flag Luxury Group and Torino Companies, who purchased the 2 acres of prime real estate on the corner of Harmon Ave. and Las Vegas Blvd. in 2021 for around $80 million. Since then, they have made great progress on the 228,000 square foot, $700 million dollar, four-story, design-focused retail space, with the majority of the construction already complete. Now it is just time for the finishing touches.
Among the first tenants to open their doors this year at 63 Las Vegas is supposed to be Ocean Prime and the Museum of Illusions.
Ocean Prime is a restaurant chain well-known across the country for its steaks, seafood, and cocktails. The 63 Las Vegas location will be a flagship location for them, and we expect it to be jaw-dropping. After all, about $20 million was invested into it!
The Museum of Illusions also has various locations throughout the country and across the world. The 63 Las Vegas location will be 15,000 square feet of mind-bending illusions, interactive experiences, art installations, and bits of educational activities.
According to the developers, this project is not like others on the Las Vegas Strip. Rather than having to go inside a hotel or casino, 63 Las Vegas will stand on its own. And to combat the idea that online shopping has made brick-and-mortar retail stores a thing of the past, you can expect what Brett Torino from Torino Companies calls “experiential detail.” Essentially, 63 Las Vegas will focus on creating an adventure for the visitor rather than just stocking products on shelves, offering average restaurants, or just making it look pretty.
It sounds great, but we’ll have to see if they can deliver!
