There are a slew of companies offering affordable car rentals in Las Vegas, though some of them stack up better in certain categories versus others. In our research, here is what we have found to be the cheapest company for the most popular categories.

Dollar consistently has some of the best deals in Las Vegas on renting a car, and since they have multiple locations in Las Vegas, they have won our title of the cheapest overall rental car facility.

There are several ways to save money with Dollar. Not only are their base rates quite low, but they offer savings partnerships with popular travel memberships like AAA, LifeMiles, and Spirit Airlines. Dollar also offers a discount when you pay in advance and frequently rotates out other car rental deals.

Thrifty is another very affordable car rental company with thousands of locations across the United States and plenty of locations around Las Vegas. It comes in as our cheapest overall runner-up as it offers similar pricing to Dollar and much of the same selection.

While there don’t seem to be as many bad reviews in terms of customer service, there do seem to be problems with people’s reservations being honored. For instance, it is often reported that Thrifty locations have more reservations than inventory. This can be a problem if you are going to be a late check-in especially.

It is widely known that many rental car suppliers either do not rent to those under 25 or that they charge an underage driver fee which can make it difficult to get a car rental for young people. Sixt is our winner for the cheapest car rentals for those under 25 because not only do they rent to those 21 and up, but they also offer a 25% discount for young drivers attending university.

However, for longer-term rentals and for something a bit nicer, Avis is the way to go. Avis, on average, has the lowest rates for truck rentals in Las Vegas.
