Golden Nugget Las Vegas has become an important part of Sin City history. The rooms at Golden Nugget are classic and modern, perfect without being over the top.
The casino is high energy with more than 1000 slots, plus table games. The pool is amazing, and no matter where you are in the hotel, the staff seems to always be helpful.

If you’re planning a trip to Las Vegas and want a great hotel to stay at with easy access to the Fremont Street Experience, the Golden Nugget is a great option.
Rooms & Suites
The Golden Nugget Las Vegas offers several different styles of rooms and suites. Normally, we break down the different types of rooms, but at the Golden Nugget, the details seem to be more about which tower the rooms and suites are in.
Rush Tower

The Rush Tower is the most recently added tower at the Golden Nugget. It was opened in 2009, and while it’s the newest, it’s not the most recently renovated. Still, the rooms are comfortable and offer all the amenities that we look for during our stay.
- Rush Tower Premier California King Room
- Rush Tower Corner Suite
- Rush Tower East End Suite
Gold Tower

The Gold Tower rooms were renovated in 2015. The Gold Tower is very popular due to its central location, which puts it close to all the hotel amenities, including the casino and restaurants.
- Gold Tower Premier King Room
- Gold Tower Premier Double Beds Room
- Gold Tower Parlor Suite
- Gold Tower Scarlet Suite
- Gold Tower Vegas Baby Suite
Carson Tower

Carson Tower rooms and suites were more recently renovated in 2018. We enjoy the relaxed, sophisticated feel of these rooms and the desert views.
- Carson Tower Deluxe King Room
- Carson Tower Deluxe Double Beds Room
Spa Tower

The Spa Tower is where you’re going to find the largest, most upscale suites at the Golden Nugget. Many of the suites that are located in this tower are generously spacious, and some are even two stories for more of a luxury apartment feel.
Restaurants

You can tell that Golden Nugget Las Vegas prides itself on having some of the best restaurants in the downtown area. With restaurants like Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse, Saltgrass, and the Chart House, the options are truly amazing. Las Vegas is a city with a very popular culinary scene, so we always recommend making your reservation as much ahead of time as possible.
The restaurants on-site at Golden Nugget Hotel range from fine dining to family-friendly, with a range of prices in between.
- Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse – Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse is a classic and has been named one of the Top Ten Steakhouses in the United States. This is a traditional steakhouse experience with a wonderful menu that’s perfect for a special night out.
- Saltgrass Steak House – If you desire a delicious steak but want an atmosphere that’s a bit more casual and relaxed than Vic & Anthony’s, Saltgrass Steak House comes highly recommended. We love the special spice blend that Saltgrass uses on their steaks, and the BBQ selections are top-notch as well.
- Chart House Restaurant – Chart House is a Golden Nugget Restaurant to make your reservation when you want to enjoy a nice night out with a meal of delicious seafood. Even if seafood isn’t your thing, this is the best restaurant to enjoy prime rib at the Golden Nugget resort.
- Grotto Italian Ristorante – Pizza and pasta are the main attractions at Grotto Italian Ristorante. We think this is one of the great family restaurants in Las Vegas. It’s casual and delicious. It doesn’t get much better than that for a low-key meal.
- Red Asian Cuisine – Red Asian Cuisine offers a modern vibe and the best location to enjoy delicious Asian cuisine. From delicious noodle dishes to sushi and sharing sake, we love this location.
- Cadillac Mexican Kitchen – Sometimes, we just really need to indulge our craving for tacos, fajitas, margaritas, and all sorts of delicious Mexican cuisine. Ok, we need to do this frequently, and the Cadillac Mexican Kitchen is one of our favorite locations to do so off of the Las Vegas Strip. If you love margaritas and find yourself at the Golden Nugget Hotel, this place is a must.
- CJ – Classic American comfort foods and great service are on the menu here. CJ opens early every day for breakfast, and they’re there to serve through lunch, dinner, and late night, too.
- The Grille – The Grille is the only restaurant at the hotel that’s open 24 hours a day. Whether you’re coming from a late night at the casino and need a snack or are coming from your room early in the morning and craving a homestyle breakfast, the Grille has it all – and at very affordable prices.
Bars & Nightlife

Nightlife is an essential part of Las Vegas culture, and it’s always great when hotels offer nightlife options for everyone. With the downtown location, the Golden Nugget is close to the Fremont Street Experience and all the bars in the area, so there’s no shortage of bars and clubs in the area. However, if you’d rather stay closer to “home,” Golden Nugget has a few great options for you.
- Troy Liquor Bar – Troy Liquor Bar has been voted the best bar on Fremont Street, and that’s saying something! Troy’s is only open on Friday and Saturday nights, so any fun during the week will need to happen somewhere else.
- Rush Lounge – Rush Lounge is famous for taking a page from the swanky, seductive Las Vegas lounge playbook. Dress up a little and have a great time.
- Ice Bar – Ice Bar is the lobby bar at Golden Nugget. This is not to be mistaken with the Minus5 Ice Bar, where everything is actually made of ice. This Ice Bar gets its name from the decor.
- Claude’s Bar – After spending time at the casino or a tense moment or two in the poker room, Claude’s Bar is close by for refreshments.
- Bar 46 – Bar 46 is everything you think a Las Vegas Bar should be. Games, people watching, drinks. It has it all.
- Stage Bar – If you love people-watching or want to take a break from the Fremont Street Experience, Stage Bar is an outdoor bar that will allow you to do just that.
- Sports Book Bar – Enjoy a couple of cocktails while placing your bets on your favorite team or race. The Sports Book Bar at Golden Nugget always offers a great atmosphere.
Shows & Entertainment

The Golden Nugget Las Vegas offers various entertainment acts, mostly musicians, on their Golden Nugget Showroom stage. The last we checked, there weren’t any residencies happening on this stage, but there is a great lineup of talent, so it’s worth checking the calendar to see if any of the performances catch your eye during your visit or stay at the property.
Some names you might recognize include Grand Funk Railroad, The Guess Who, Confederate Railroad, Blue Oyster Cult, and Dokken.
Pool

The Golden Nugget property offers one of the most unique pool experiences in Las Vegas. The Golden Nugget offers two completely different pool experiences, one for everyone and another that’s a completely adult experience.
The Tank Pool is this glorious multi-level complex that features not only a pool – but a pool with a shark tank! Did we mention that there’s also a waterslide that takes you through the center of the shark tank aquarium?
The shark tank aquarium in the pool is 200,000 gallons, and it’s such a fun adventure for all ages.
The second pool option is called the Hideout, and it’s an adult-only (in this case, meaning 21+) located on the third level of the pool complex. This is a great escape if you’re longing for a poolside experience that doesn’t involve the splashing, playing, and noise that’s happening in the award-winning pool below.
We love the infinity pool that’s located up here, the poolside bar, and the cool vibe.
Both of the Golden Nugget pools are seasonal, and in Las Vegas, this usually means that the pools close in late October or early November when the air begins to turn cool. There are heated outdoor pools in Las Vegas where you can take a dip in December or January, but this is not one of them.
Cabanas are also available for both the Tank Pool and the Hideout.
What’s better than sitting by the pool on a hot July or August day in Las Vegas and enjoying a luscious cocktail and delicious snacks? The poolside bar at Golden Nugget has you covered. The menu offers a variety of frozen drinks, jello shots, and signature cocktails.
If you’re looking for something to eat, the menu offers a variety of sandwiches, appetizers, salads, pizza, and hotdogs. For a poolside menu, the prices are actually a good deal and not extremely overpriced like food at other pools in Las Vegas.
Spa & Fitness Center

After a day of sightseeing and shopping, what better way to prepare for a night in Las Vegas than by stopping by the spa for an indulgent massage or body treatment service? The spa at Golden Nugget is wonderfully helpful in accomplishing this.
The Spa & Salon, which is located on the fourth floor of the Spa Tower, offers a range of therapeutic and relaxing services, including massages, a sauna, body treatments, hair, nails, and makeup services.
There’s also a fitness center on-site with loads of equipment, so you don’t need to let your fitness routine slip when you’re staying at the Golden Nugget. Guests must be at least 18 years or older to enter both the spa and the fitness center.
The spa is open daily from 9 am until 5 pm. Reservations must be made for services. The fitness center is open daily from 6 am until 6 pm.
Casino

We know that there’s a lot of you out there who just aren’t fond of the casino and gaming scene in Las Vegas, but if you’re going to take a trip to the gambling playground of the world, you might play a little if you’re feeling lucky.
With a name like Golden Nugget and the history wrapped up in the place, we can’t resist tempting luck at one of the biggest property amenities – the casino! It’s arguably one of the most popular casinos on Fremont Street in Downtown Vegas.
When we were there, the casino featured what looked to be at least 1,000 slots and electronic games, including video poker, and the payouts looked to be decent, too.
For table games, we noticed all the usual suspects – blackjack, baccarat, craps, roulette, and more. Of course, there’s also poker. The poker room at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas has been featured in multiple televised poker series.
The Golden Nugget casino is open 24 hours a day, and smoking is allowed on the casino floor.
