Hairlarious Deceptions at the Strat with Murray Sawchuck

Murray Sawchuck, aka “Murray the Magician” is back, launching a new show, Hairlarious Deceptions, at The Strat’s L.A. Comedy Club. Opening December 14, this family-friendly magic spectacle will take over the 4 p.m. slot on Saturdays and Sundays, with tickets starting at $39.95. It’s a limited engagement through April—because in Vegas, nothing stays still.

A Magician’s Constant Reinvention

Murray’s career is a masterclass in adaptability. He debuted on the Strip in 2002 at the (now-demolished) Frontier, and most recently headlined Laugh Factory at the Tropicana until its closure earlier this year. This latest venture marks his solo return, with longtime collaborator Doug “Lefty” Leferovich and wife Dani Elizabeth sitting this one out.

The new Strat show is tailored to fit the intimate 270-seat venue at L.A. Comedy Club. For Murray, it’s about testing the waters: “You want to make sure the relationship and everything works within the casino, in the new club, and also who you’re working with.”

What ages is this show for?

Hairlarious Deceptions is a comedy magic show great for any age, so bring the whole family.

Does Murray do a Meet and Greet?

Yes, after every show, Murray Sawchuck hosts a meet and greet so you can take photos with him, and have him sign something. He’s a super social magician and loves to meet his audience!

Vegas Hustle, Murray-Style

Murray’s career is a magic trick in itself, juggling YouTube fame (3.5 million subscribers, 6.5 billion views), appearances on Pawn Stars, and his side hustle as a landscaper. Yes, you read that right. He’s the only Strip performer who might mulch your flower beds before sawing someone in half.

Even during the pandemic, when most entertainers were sidelined, Murray launched Dirt 2 Dreams, a landscaping company. One morning, he’s delivering trees; by nightfall, he’s pulling doves out of scarves. Talk about range.

Controversy? Abracadabra, It’s Gone!

Murray’s not without critics. He’s ruffled feathers in the magic world, including being banned by the Magic Castle for revealing tricks online. But with millions watching his viral clips, it’s safe to say he’s laughing all the way to the smoke-filled stage.

For a guy who says he dropped the accordion as a kid “to start dating,” Murray’s proven that versatility is the ultimate key to staying relevant in Vegas.
