Dead & Company: Mar 20 – May 17, 2025

Dead & Company is a rock band that started in 2015 with multiple former members of Grateful Dead. While there have been many rumors of the band breaking up in recent years, their Sphere residency is proof that it won’t happen anytime soon.

The show will include never-before-seen visual storytelling that allows fans to connect with the music in a whole new way. Each weekend will feature a unique setlist, so you never know what you’ll hear until the show begins.

Tickets & Schedule

Dead & Company currently has 18 shows scheduled at Sphere in 2025. They said these are the only shows they will be performing in 2025, so don’t expect there to be extended dates “due to overwhelming demand.”

All shows start at 7:30 pm, with three shows per weekend. There are no shows scheduled on weekdays.

  • March 2025: 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29
  • April 2025: 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26
  • May 2025: 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17

Can’t wait til Dec 13? Vibee is offering full hotel and concert packages starting December 5, but they are pricey:

V-U2: An Immersive Concert Film

V U2 at Sphere

Rock legends U2 are set to dazzle fans once again with their upcoming film “V-U2: An Immersive Concert Film,” premiering exclusively at the Sphere in Las Vegas on September 5, 2024. This groundbreaking cinematic experience aims to recreate the band’s record-breaking “U2:UV” concert series, which captivated over 700,000 fans from more than 100 countries during its 40-show run from September 2024 to March 2025.

A New Era of Concert Films

“V-U2” is not your average concert movie. It’s the first film shot entirely using Big Sky, Sphere Entertainment’s cutting-edge ultra-high-resolution camera system. This technology allows viewers to feel as if they’re actually at a live U2 performance, thanks to the Sphere’s immersive features:

  • A massive 160,000-square-foot LED screen with 16K resolution
  • Sphere Immersive Sound powered by HOLOPLOT for crystal-clear audio
  • Haptic seats that vibrate, letting audiences “feel” the music

Behind the Scenes

The film is co-directed by U2 guitarist The Edge and Morleigh Steinberg, with production overseen by band members Bono, The Edge, and Adam Clayton. The Edge expressed his excitement about the project, saying, “The goal was to give the immersive moviegoers as close to the live U2:UV concert experience as possible — and then some.”

A Pop Culture Phenomenon

The original “U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere” shows became a social media sensation, with fans sharing their experiences online and turning the concerts into a global event

Now, “V-U2” aims to bring that same energy and spectacle to movie audiences, using the Sphere’s advanced technology to create an unforgettable viewing experience. As the world’s biggest rock band meets the world’s most advanced entertainment venue, “V-U2” promises to redefine what’s possible in concert films and live music experiences.

Tickets start at $92, as opposed to the lowest-priced live ticket price of $390.

Eagles: Sept 20, 2024 – April 12, 2025

Artist Presale Ticket prices for the Eagles are $175, $225, $325, and $425 (includes taxes and fees).

The Eagles will be performing on Fridays and Saturdays over 4 weekends in September and October (a perfect time to come to Vegas, in my opinion).

  • September 20, 21, 27, 28
  • October 11, 12, 18, 19
  • November 1, 2, 8, 9
  • December 6, 7, 13, 14
  • January 17, 18, 24, 25, 2025
  • February 14, 15, 21, 22, 2025
  • April 4, 5, 11, 12

They are offering show & Venetian hotel packages on sale June 14 at 10am at Vibee for $1451/person and $1051/person.

Multiple other artists have been confirmed for the venue, plus an immersive show that allows you to experience the Sphere without splurging on concert tickets.

The Sphere Experience, Postcards from Earth, takes the unique Sphere technology to deliver an unreal event unlike anything we’ve ever seen.

Las Vegas Sphere with sun behind it

The show is broken into two parts – the 45 minute interactive experience and the 50 minute 18K film.

Sphere Postcards two part

As you walk in the lobby you are met with a several story display hanging from the ceiling with the world’s largest holographic display.

Venetian Sphere Interior Lobby

On this main level you can talk to any of the five Robots – ask them anything. This is almost as fun as the show itself, so don’t miss it.

Sphere escalators with holographic display

This is not just another IMAX movie. There is a fantastic story about man’s time on Earth, and it shows you every corner of the planet so you can experience cultures you may have never seen or imagined.

This show is an experience that includes seat haptics, movement sensations, flashing lights, intense lighting, visual effects, loud noises, and atmospheric simulations such as scent and wind.

The wind and the different smells were amazing! It really places you in the scene.

All guests must be 6+ years of age to attend Postcards from Earth, but honestly, I think that’s a little young. I would recommend 10 years of age and older. (I was a little scared at points myself, and I’m 50! 😉

Seating Chart for Postcard from Earth

Because Sphere is such a unique venue with so many display possibilities, the seating chart can change depending on the event, but seating for this show always remains the same.

Sphere Postcard from Earth seating map

Section 306 is considered the best seats in the house where you will experience Postcard from Earth as if you are looking through the camera lens. These are considered Director Seats, which comes with other perks, but costs $249 each.

We paid $169 for section 305 on the aisle and was just as good, I’m sure.

Location

The MSG Sphere is located just off the Las Vegas Strip, east of The Venetian, Palazzo, and Sands Expo & Convention Center. It is also just South of the Wynn Golf Club. It is more on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip but still within close proximity of several on-strip accommodations.

Since it is so large, the MSG Sphere will forever change the skyline of the Las Vegas Strip. You’ll be able to get a bird’s eye view of the Sphere from several lookout points along the Strip, which will be entertaining on its own.

There is ample parking located around the Sphere and many nearby parking lots and garages to choose from if you don’t mind a short walk.

Accessibility & ADA Seating

Sphere accessibility and ADA seating

There are several wheelchair and scooter-accessible seats available in each section of the Sphere venue.

In many sections, a complete 20-seat row is available for wheelchairs and scooters. These are the sections with an entire back row of wheelchair-accessible seating:

  • 203, 209
  • 302, 304, 306, 308, 310
  • 406

The other sections have two accessible seats at the end of both sides of one row, giving you four total for the section.

Please see the image to the right showing the Accessible seating and where it’s typically located in a section.

Construction

Construction on the Sphere broke ground in September 2019, and construction didn’t finish until 2023.

Capacity

At its widest point, the Sphere is over 360 feet tall and just over 516 feet wide, making it the largest spherical structure in the world!

Inside are 17,500 seats, a standing room only for 25000 guests, 23 VIP suites, and the highest resolution screen in the world, coming in 100 times clearer than the best TVs on the market. The total capacity comes in at 20,000 people.

Interior

Speaking of the screen, not only is it crisp and clear due to the number of pixels, but it’s also larger than the area of three football fields. The world’s largest, highest-resolution LED screen gives the audience an immersive experience from every seat.

To keep up with the screen, the acoustic system features 157,000 ultra-directional speakers with “beamforming” technology and an infrasound haptic system so the audience can feel the sound through deep vibrations.

This technology creates an immersive environment that will allow two people sitting at different places to hear and feel two different things, creating a unique experience for every guest.

Guests also have stellar Wifi thanks to the new connectivity system delivering 25 megabits of data per second across the 1,100 Wifi access points.

The main atrium features four floors with free-standing escalators and bridges, offering a clear view of the space below from many different points.

Exterior

Outside, the dome has 60,000 square feet of programmable lighting powered by external high-definition LED screens, making the outside just as impressive as the inside.

This has created a unique spot to advertise upcoming events and partnerships with a big, bright display that’s impossible to ignore.

Sphere Cost

The MSG Sphere is an engineering marvel and was initially supposed to cost $1.2 billion, but that has now increased to an expected $1.865 billion dollars. The cost increase is due to several factors, including supply chain effects from COVID-19, design changes, increases in labor and materials, and more.

Between the sheer size and the technology, it’s no wonder it costs so much.

    1. Oh wow, we can only imagine how big that price tag would be! You’d most likely have to start by reaching out to the venue directly to discuss the event, audience size, and other details before a quote could be given.

  1. How does the General Admission/Floor work for U2 concerts? It seems the tickets are given row numbers but is it standing only / first come first served?

    1. The tickets are given row numbers, but it’s standing room only once you’re inside. It seems that the row numbers are used to hand out wrist bands before the show, but you can read the full GA policy for the show here.

    1. Details about a handicap drop off location haven’t been shared yet, but it’s highly unlikely that a venue this size wouldn’t have a designated drop off area.

  2. its says 10.000 seats have haptics, so not all the seats? I think there are 17,000 total. how do you know which ones do or do not? I just bought tix for the movie but would like the full experience.

    1. So far, there isn’t a clear way to know which seats have haptics and which don’t. This is one of the many details regarding the Sphere that no one has a solid answer on and the venue has not addressed it.

  3. What is the easiest way to get to the sphere if staying nearby (not the Venetian, Palazzo or Wynn)? Does the monorail stop there or nearby? Can you get to on foot from the strip? Going for U2 in October

    1. The easiest way to get to the Sphere on foot is via the pedestrian bridge connected to Venetian. If you take the monorail to the Harrah’s/LINQ stop, it’s about an 8 minute walk to Venetian, then the bridge connects directly to The Sphere property.

    1. The Sphere is large enough that most hotels on the east side of the Strip will offer some type of view, depending on your room. Venetian, Palazzo, and Wynn will offer the best views though.

  4. Do you know the run time for Postcard from Earth? I’ve seen that it’s supposed to last an hour, but haven’t been able to confirm that.

  5. Will there be daily “shows” on the outside of the sphere? Or just during special events/holidays? If daily, any idea when they start and how often per day?

    1. The exterior of the Sphere will show different animations and imagery every day and night.

Currently, there is no schedule with a set start time, so you’ll just have to keep an eye out! Some displays will be themed to the season, events, or holidays, but not all of them.

  6. My understanding is that there are no BAD seats in the venue. Is this so? Also ,can tickets be purchased other than through TICKETMASTER.

    1. There are no bad seats! The immersive screen design and top-notch acoustics will give everyone in the audience a great show, no matter where you’re sitting.
Tickets for MSG Sphere shows are currently only available from Ticketmaster.

  7. Do you know which seating sections will allow for the best view of the stage and The Sphere? I have seen ticket choices that are labeled full view of stage/band and limited view of The Sphere. Do you know what is meant by that?

    1. The Sphere is designed to give each guest an immersive, unique expereince. No two seats are exactly the same, but they’re all good! If you want an equal view of The Sphere and the stage, sections 204 – 208 and 304 – 308 are good options.

    1. Nobody has been announced yet to follow U2 at the Sphere. They will have the Postcards from Earth show starting in October, but no other performers.

    1. They have been talking about adding a Sphere and Venetian monorail stop since 2019, but nothing yet.

  8. Where to seat numbers begin? from the center to outside or vice versa? All charts show only Section numbers… not rows or seats.

    1. If you’re facing the stage the lowest seat numbers starts on the left and goes up to the right of each section.

      1. Do you know if section 201 has an obstructed view? it looks like it is under an overhang, but I cannot find if that will obstruct the view for the U2 show? Thanks!

        1. There have been some reports of obstructed views in the 100 sections due to the overhang from the 200 sections above, but you view from section 201 should be clear and unobstructed.

    1. The Sphere hasn’t posted any information yet about handbags or purses, but expect them to be searched and scanned when passing through security.

  9. Hate to say it, but it looks short on exits. As it looks in renderings and photos, will it really be safe? I can stay home and see youtube.

    1. We dont actually know about seating size and closeness because Ticketmaster isnt selling individual tickets because of huge demand. They are only selling into sections currently.

    1. Accessible seating may be secured through Ticketmaster or by contacting the Sphere Accessibility Services Department at accessibilityservices@msg.com or 725-258-6724, Monday through Friday between 6:00 am and 5:00 pm PT, and Saturday and Sunday between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm PT.

    1. No, there is no age restriction set for U2, but for their Postcard from Earth experience they are requiring all guests be 6+ years of age. And anyone under 18 years old should be accompanied by an adult.

    2. What does parking cost? What and where are the parking options? Are there any shuttles that will drop off at the Sphere? TY!

      1. We dont know parking costs yet for the Sphere. The monorail was planned to open a new stop in front of Venetian/Sphere, but nothing yet. The bus route also goes right past the Venetian and Sphere.

    1. We just updated the U2 show dates, seating and ticket prices. New dates were just added going into November.

  10. Bonjour,
Savez vous quand nous pourrions acheter des billets pour le concert de U2 qui aura lieu en septembre et octobre ?

      1. I have a questions I need to buy 8 tickets fir a large group but I can inly buy 4 also it does not gives me designated seat. It just books for the sección

        1. Ticketmaster is restricting tickets to a 4-seat limit. This is done to prevent scalpers from buying up huge blocks of tickets and reselling them.

  11. Will you be able to enter the sphere and walk around just like the hotels/casinos WITHOUT having to buy a ticket to see a show there?

    1. There are 304 public parking spaces on-site at the MSG Sphere, and a 1000-ft pedestrian bridge (about a 5 min walk) is being built connecting the Sphere to the Sands Expo parking, where there are 12,000+ spaces for Venetian, Palazzo, and Sands Expo, while the Sphere is a 17,000 person capacity. I’m sure they’ll figure it out before opening day, but it may be tough to park on nights where the Sphere is full for the U2 residency.

        1. MSG Theater will have 17,500 seats and U2 is supposed to be opening the theater starting September 29. U2 is reportedly setting up 12 shows, all Fridays and Saturdays, over non-consecutive weekends, according to Review Journal.

      1. I have floor seats 4 u2 I sure hope my husband can take his mobility scooter on floor he has at all other u2 floor shows

        1. Hi Tammy,
If you’re concerned about taking a mobility scooter to floor seats for the show, it would be best to contact the Sphere Accessibility Services Department directly. You can call them at 725-258-6724 or email at accessibilityservices@msg.com

          1. Hi! Will there be food and alcohol concession stands at the U2 concerts?

    1. So MSG has upped its budget in the last few days from $2 Billion to $2.18 Billion due to inflation. Here’s the latest from CFO David Byrnes: “Work continues on the exterior of the venue with the installation of the LED mega panels on the exosphere, where crews have been progressing from the top of the venue down.” And while they haven’t announced an open date, they do have plans to have the arena open in time to participate in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship in Las Vegas in November 2023.

    1. Looking for less expensive hotel options for hotels within walking distance of the Sphere. Any recommendations?

      1. The closest less expensive hotel within walking distance of the Sphere is Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Desert Club Resort. It runs about $100/night.
Tuscany Suites is about $40/night but its about a 12 minute walk to the Sphere. Hope that helps!
