Terry Fator Show Closed Abruptly

Terry Fator Closed

Terry Fator, the puppet master of the Strip and possibly the only person to hold conversations with a turtle onstage and not get escorted out, has suddenly packed up his act after a whopping 16-and-a-half years making Vegas audiences forget they’re actually watching a grown man throw his voice for a living.

His final performance at The STRAT went down last night (on Tuesday, September 23, 2025) with all the drama of a soap opera cliffhanger…except with fewer evil twins and more singing puppets.

This wasn’t your usual “Banner goes up, tickets go half-off, show slowly disappears” Vegas ending. Fator’s residency closure was abrupt enough that if you sneezed, you missed it. The official word? Terry’s pivoting to symphony concerts (because every orchestra needs a puppet?) and planning a global tour with his crew of felt-and-foam sidekicks. He’s promised new TV ventures too (so get ready for “America’s Got Talent: Turtle Edition,” probably).

Insiders say the real culprit was slow ticket sales. Turns out ventriloquism isn’t recession-proof, even if the jokes are timeless. The STRAT’s theater struggled to fill seats, and apparently the puppets just don’t hustle on social media like the Thunder From Down Under boys.

Fator’s fans (including us) are sad to see him go, but the man himself is taking it all in stride, all smiles, and (as usual) barely moving his lips.

If Vegas has taught anyone anything, it’s that one day you’re headlining, and the next day you’re loading a suitcase full of puppets into an Uber, plotting your symphonic puppet comeback.

One thing’s for sure: Terry may be done with Vegas stages (for now), but the Strip will never be free of puppet-induced awkward laughter for long.

The Strat Show

The Terry Fator show at the Strat was not just a ventriloquist act – it’s a singing, dancing, celebrity impressionism act that makes ventriloquism more fun than ever before.

  • Showtimes: Sundays at 7pm and Mon-Thurs at 5 pm
  • Cost: $37-$62

America’s Got Talent winner Terry Fator is clearly the star of his newest Las Vegas show, “One Man, a Hundred Voices, a Thousand Laughs!” but his puppets are the real audience favorites. The 70-minute show includes comedy, music, and ventriloquism that’s almost too good to believe.

Terry Fator Theater & Tickets

The Strat Theater has several round tables and booths that seat 4-5 people at each in addition to standard chairs. Because of this, it feels more like a lounge than a theater, which is a nice change.

Strat Theater Seating Map Vegas Food and Fun

There are 4 seating and price tiers.

  • VIP Booths ($62+) – seat 5 people, get scooped up the quickest, and cost the most
  • VIP Tables ($54+) – seat 4 people and closest to the stage
  • Preferred ($45+) – this tier has regular theater seating, tables, and booths
  • Gallery ($37+) – standard seating in the back

Terry Fator’s Puppets

These are some of Terry’s most famous puppet characters, but the cast is always growing and changing to keep things interesting.

Winston the Impersonating Turtle

Winston the Turtle

The star puppet of the show, Winston, the impersonating turtle, impersonates almost any singer and helps Terry win America’s Got Talent. His rendition of Kermit the Frog’s Rainbow Connection is my favorite!

Julius

Julius is an African American singer and an Apollo Theater legend who has performed with all the greats from the Motown era. You can see them perform Bruno Mars’s song “Uptown Funk” in the video below.

Duggie Scott Walker

Terry Fator Puppet Show

Duggie is Terry’s partying, hard, rock-loving, annoying neighbor in Nevada. Everyone knows and loves a Duggie in their life.

Walter T. Airdale

Walter T Airdale

Walter is a country singer running for President and thinks he’ll fit right into Washington, DC. He sings fantastic Garth Brooks songs like Friends in Low Places and Jason Aldean’s She’s Country.

Maynard Thompkins- Terry Fator

Maynard Thompkins

Maynard is the world’s greatest Elvis impersonator, but he doesn’t know any Elvis songs. 🙂 Instead, he chooses to sing an Aaron Neville song and has absolutely hilarious banter with Terry.
