Jabbawockeez in Las Vegas
- Show Times: Monday, Wednesday to Sunday at 7:00 pm & 9:30 pm
- Cost: $39 to $99
- Location: Jabbawockeez Theater at MGM Grand
The Jabbawockeez have been performing in Vegas since 2010, but their current production, Timeless, is hosted at MGM Grand inside the Jabbawockeez Theater.
The high-tech show has unbelievable choreography, pulse-pounding music, and, of course, the iconic white masks and gloves.
The premise behind the Timeless production is to take you through the dance scenes across America over time so that everyone watching, no matter who they are, has a piece of the show they can relate to.
It’s a family-friendly show unlike anything else you’ll see in Vegas.
Tickets
The Jabbawockeez show is very affordable, with ticket prices starting at $49.00 for limited-view seats.
From there, there are four categories of seating to choose from. Category E seats offer a better view of the stage, but they’re located further back and to the side of the stage, which can make it challenging to get the best show experience.
Category D seats are a great choice if you want a good view without breaking the bank. You’ll be closer to the stage with a more direct view, but not perfectly centered or in the front row.
Category C seats has a lot of seating options to choose from, all for the same price. You can be in the front row towards one side of the stage, centered about halfway back from the stage, or in the back row with lounge-style seating.
The stage and seating design make it so that even if you opt for back-row seating, you’ll have a fantastic view! It’s not like nosebleed seating in the back of a larger arena.
Category B seats are the best seats you can get without paying extra for a meet and greet with the Jabawockeez. Category B seats are perfectly centered to give a phenomenal view of every move made on stage.
If you’re a Jabawockeez fan, it’s well worth spending a little more to get these seats!
Finally, a very limited number of meet and greet tickets are available. These tickets will reserve your seat in the middle of the front row, and you can get up close and personal with the performers. Only ten meet-and-greet seats are available for each show, priced at $99.
About the Jabbawockeez
The Jabbawockeez gained traction after appearing on America’s Got Talent in 2006. Shortly after, in 2008, they won the first season of Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew (ABDC).
They soon became the most famous ABDC group to come out of the show for their notable dance pieces, but also in part because of their recognizable mask and glove uniform. The masking of individual identities puts the attention on their sharp, unified moves.
The Jabbawockeez featured some insane choreography, perfect synchronization, and a unique dance style. The group name was inspired by a poem called Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll, in which Jabberwocky is a dragon.
The Jabbawockeez have essentially transformed how America views dance crews, and they have a huge fan base of people who can’t get enough of the innovative dance crew.
Awards & Accolades
Not only are the Jabawockeez well-loved, but they also have a few awards to show for their hard work. After winning America’s Best Dance Crew in 2008, the Jabbawockeez were voted Favorite Reality TV Star in the Asian Excellence Awards.
Later, in 2012, they were awarded the Living Legend of Hip Hop Award by Hip Hop International and were the first hip-hop dance crew ever to be given the award. The following year, the Jabbawockeez were awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Set It Off Competition.
Over the years, they were nominated for others, such as the Steamy Awards 2014. Their Vegas show has won awards for the Best All Ages Show and the Best Family Show in Las Vegas.
Jabbawockeez Members
Speaking of the Jabbawockeez members, who are under the masks, anyway? Well, there have been many Jabbawockeez members over the years; however, the founding dance group members were dancers Kevin Brewer (“KB”) and Joe Larot (“Punkee”). Soon added were Rynan Paguio (“Kid Rainen”) and Jeff Nguyen (“Phi”).
These four became the original members that appeared on America’s Best Dance Crew. They are now the owners of Jabbawockeez.
As they have aged, the original four have mainly produced and directed the show, only performing occasionally. The additional members and those who perform now are a new generation mostly made up of mentees of the four founding members.
However, the fun of it all is the masks, so you never quite know who might be under there.
Whether you are with family or on a couple’s trip to Las Vegas, it is a blast to see America’s best dance crew in person. Grab a quick bite before the show or indulge in some fine dining after the show at one of these tasty MGM Grand restaurants.
