MGM Grand Pool Complex
The MGM Grand Pool Complex spans 6.5 acres with four swimming pools, a lazy river, three whirlpools, beautiful waterfalls, and palm trees that make you feel much further from the Las Vegas Strip than you actually are.
Three of the four swimming pools are family-friendly, but one of the swimming pools is reserved for adults-only fun! Wet Republic Pool is one of the hottest day clubs in Las Vegas, hosting pool parties from Thursday to Sunday each week. The Wet Republic adults-only pool deck features party cabanas and non-stop energy that’s truly infectious.
The MGM Grand pool complex is surrounded by luxurious daybeds, pods, and cabanas to make your pool day as comfortable as possible. With poolside food and drink options, there’s no reason to leave! The MGM Grand pool is one of the best on the Las Vegas Strip in terms of the overall guest experience.
Lazy River
One of the most famous parts of the MGM Grand Pool complex is the lazy river. The 1,000-foot-long lazy river is 3.5 feet deep and goes throughout the pool complex. Float the river and enjoy the scenery of waterfalls, lush palm trees, bridges, and multiple pools.
The MGM lazy river is very popular but is only available to MGM Grand guests. This keeps it from getting overcrowded, even on weekends. Even when the river is busy, you can float and keep to yourself if you aren’t in the mood to socialize. If you’re looking to make friends, there are plenty of talkative river-goers too!
You have to use an inner tube to go down the lazy river. You can bring your own from home or purchase one from the pool shop. If you bring your own, it must be a circular tube, and they’ll put air in it for you at the pool shop.
Cabanas, Daybeds, & Lounge Chairs
Reserving poolside seating at the MGM Grand pool complex is a bit pricey, but it’s 100% worth it. Free seating in the pool complex fills up quickly, so making a reservation is the only way to guarantee you can comfortably lounge by the water. There are a few different options to accommodate your budget and the size of your group.
Lounge Chairs
Lounge chairs are the most affordable option, but each chair can only hold 1 person. The lounge chairs are padded and have an umbrella for shade, plus a side table to hold your drinks. Unfortunately, there’s not a lot of space between lounge chairs, so you won’t have much privacy between yourself and the other pool guests.
Daybeds & Pods
Daybeds are the happy medium option between a lounge chair and a cabana. A daybed holds up to 4 people. As the name suggests, it feels a lot like a bed! There’s an umbrella that can be opened for shade. Each daybed also has wifi access, a personal safe, a side table for drinks, and a host to bring you food, drinks, and towels as needed.
There is a smaller, slightly cheaper version of a daybed called a Pod. Pods have the same amenities as a daybed but only hold 2 people. Instead of a shade umbrella, a shade cover can be pulled out to hang over the top of the pod. This is an excellent option if you’re in Vegas with your best friend or spouse!
Cabanas
If you want to go all-out for poolside luxury, a cabana is the way to go. Cabanas can accommodate up to 10 guests, so they’re popular with families and party groups visiting Sin City. Each cabana has a ceiling fan, flat screen tv, couch, lounge chairs, tables, personal safe, pool rafts, a storage closet, shade umbrella, and poolside wifi access.
Your cabana rental also includes access to your very own private patio outside the cabana, lazy river tubes, and a personal host to meet all your needs. From poolside bottle service to food and fresh towels, the hosts make every cabana guest feel like a VIP.
Food & Drink
There are more options for drinks in the MGM Grand pool complex than food, but we’re not complaining! There are five bars throughout the pool complex, and you can take drinks with you in the water as long as you’re in an inner tube. Daybed, pod, and cabana rentals include a personal host who will bring food and drinks to you, so there’s no need to wait at the bar to order.
There is one restaurant serving up food for the pool complex called the Cabana Grill. The Cabana Grill focuses on fresh summer flavors that will keep you fueled for a day of fun in the sun. If you can’t decide what to order, the Cabana Tacos and Cabana Sampler are both delicious options!
Pool Hours
The pool closed for the season on November 2, 2024.
During pool season, the pool is open from 8 AM to 7 PM daily.
Wet Republic Dayclub is usually open from 11 AM to close from Thursday to Sunday during pool season. Closing time is usually around 5 PM, but it can vary depending on live performers and how busy the day club is.
Policies
The MGM Grand pool complex is pretty relaxed, but there are a few ground rules to keep in mind. First, be sure to wear a swimsuit cover-up, shirt, and shoes when walking to and from the pool. MGM Grand doesn’t want pool goers walking through the casino in just a bathing suit, which is understandable.
Outside food and drinks cannot be brought into the pool complex. Pool toys, novelty tubes, flippers, drugs, weapons, and glass items of any kind are also prohibited.
The pool complex is family-friendly, with the exception of Wet Republic. You must be at least 21 years old to enter the Wet Republic Ultra Pool area.
If you’ve reserved a daybed, cabana, or pod, you must check in between 9 AM and 11 AM. If you don’t check in by 11 AM or contact pool staff, your reservation will be released, and you will be charged 100% of the reservation cost.
Location
Finding the MGM Grand pool complex is easy. From the front desk, walk straight through the MGM Grand casino. When you pass The Lobby Bar, bear right towards KA Theatre. Turn right to walk through The District. You’ll see an escalator going down after you pass Morimoto, International Smoke, and Television City.
Ride the escalator down, and you’ll come out right by the pool! MGM Grand has plenty of signage to point you in the right direction, too, so getting lost is pretty much impossible.

I will be staying at the MGM Grand in October coming up. When do the pools and lazy river close for cleaning?
MGM Grand Pools typically close in November for the season, but its so weather dependent. With this year being so hot, they might be able to extend the season, but I think an October stay will be fine.
Cleaning is done for both the pools and lazy river each day after closing time at 7pm.
