MGM Grand Las Vegas has been a fixture on the Las Vegas Strip since 1993. The now iconic MGM Resorts International property features more than 6,800 rooms, suites, and Skylofts, plus a long list of dining, nightlife, and entertainment options and a slew of amenities.
As the most popular destination in Nevada, Las Vegas has been coined as the entertainment capital of the world. The MGM Grand Hotel is a wonderful location to spend your vacation or special weekend if you want to experience it all. Here are all the details about the rooms, amenities, and everything there is to do at the resort.
MGM Grand Rooms
Studio King
The Studio King is the smallest room at the MGM Grand. It measures 350 sq ft, which is quite small, but if you’re a single person or a couple that doesn’t mind close quarters, it’s still a nice room to lay your head down in at the end of the night.
To us, the Studio King has a very desert feel to it. The decor is done in muted desert hues, and while the furnishings are modern, the lines are soft. The comfortable beds feature large headboards, and the window seating is nice and plush.
The Studio King features a recessed mini bar, a marble bathroom, 55-inch flat-screen television, decent closet space for the size of the room, and charging stations for your devices.
Grand Rooms
The Grand Rooms are a bit larger than the Studio King and measure 446 sq ft. Grand Room options include a single king bed or two queen beds depending on your party size and how comfortable you are with each other. The Grand Rooms are a good option for a couple of friends or a small family that doesn’t place a high priority on privacy.
The decor of the Grand Rooms is a bit more modern looking than the Studio King and offers more pops of colors. As far as amenities go, the television is smaller at 40″, but what you trade in size on the TV, you get back with a nice glass-top desk. Personally, for us, we’d rather have this extra desk space than a few more inches on the TV. There’s also a sofa or plus chairs for additional seating.
StayWell Rooms
MGM Resorts International properties in the Las Vegas area are well-known for offering StayWell rooms & Suites. With the StayWell room options, you get more than just comfortable beds to make your stay relaxing. These rooms feature additional wellness amenities that ease the stress that comes from travel and help support your overall wellness.
MGM Resorts StayWell Hotel Rooms offer features that include aromatherapy, air purification, shower infusers, natural mattresses, specialized lighting to reduce jet lag, and digital wellness subscriptions.
The StayWell options are available with both the king and queen Grand Rooms, as well as the Executive Suites, Tower Spa Suite, and the Marquee Suite. If you prefer a StayWell, make sure to make it known when you make your reservation.
MGM Grand Suites
Executive Suites
The Executive Suite is the smallest suite at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It’s ideal for business travelers and maybe singles or couples who are on a working vacation and appreciate a nice, stylish working area. The Executive Suite measures 675 sq ft and comes in two room options – a single king with a pull-out bed in the sofa or a double queen bed suite, also with a pull-out sofa bed. The Executive Suites offer a spacious living area, but there’s not much privacy afforded since the living area and sleeping area are connected with an open floor plan.
Tower Spa Suite
The Tower Spa Suite is a step up in luxury. This suite measures 694 sq ft, and we think this is a wonderful option for couples that are whisking away to tie the knot in Las Vegas, celebrating an anniversary, or just spending a special weekend together. What makes the Tower Spa Suite unique is the spa-style bathroom with a spacious whirlpool tub and separate shower. There’s also a spacious living area that works for light entertaining.
Tower One Bedroom Suite
The One Bedroom Tower Suite is the smallest suite that features a bedroom that’s separate from the living area. The Tower One Bedroom offers a single king-sized bed in the private sleeping area, a generously spacious seating area, and a dining area that seats up to four. If you have an extra guest or two and don’t want to share the bedroom, the sofa pulls out and works as additional sleeping space. The Tower One Bedroom Suite measures 775 sq ft.
City View Suite
The City View Suite is a corner suite that offers top-notch views of the Vegas skyscape and noticeable touches of luxury throughout. The City View Suite is 950 sq ft and features a separate sleeping area with a single king bed. There is no door to the sleeping area, but the room is designed to offer at least a small amount of privacy by having the bedroom set back from the main living area and behind a separate wall.
The Roman Spa tub is perfect for sinking into after a long day of retail therapy at one of the great Las Vegas shopping malls or just as a way to relax in the evening. Robes and slippers are provided. While this suite only sleeps two, there is seating for four at the dining table, so you can always invite a couple of friends over to share some takeout or room service.
Penthouse City View Suite
Who doesn’t love a penthouse suite in Las Vegas with a view of the city from high above? An incredible view is what you get with the Penthouse City View Suite. However, if we had our wish, we would request that there be floor-to-ceiling windows in this suite. But you can’t get everything you wish for, right?
This suite measures 1250 sq ft and offers a single bedroom with one king bed and a private bathroom. This suite features more modern decor than some of the other suites but is comfortable and does have these little touches that make it feel like a home away from home. There is a dining area that seats four and an oversized marble wet bar for light entertaining.
Skyline Terrace Suite
In our opinion, the Skyline Terrace Suite is one of the dreamiest suites in the MGM Grand collection. It’s a two-story suite with vaulted ceilings and a spacious terrace for taking in the view of the Las Vegas skyline. Everything about the design of this suite makes it feel airy and open.
For a large suite that measures 1,300 sq ft, the Skyline Terrace Suite offers only one bedroom with a single king-sized bed. Both the bedroom and master bath with a whirlpool tub are located on the upper level of the suite. While the Skyline Terrace Suite only sleeps two, we think it’s one of the best suites for intimate entertaining.
Two-Bedroom Marquee Suite
Finally, we came to an MGM Grand suite with two bedrooms. The Two Bedroom Marquee Suite offers some of the best views from the upper levels of the hotel. The location and large windows provide 180-degree views that are frankly breathtaking.
Each of the two bedrooms features its own private master bath. The first room is located off of the living area, with the second bedroom being located on the opposite side of the suite. The Two-Bedroom Marquee Suite features an oversized marble wet bar and a dining area for six. There’s also plenty of room in the 1500 sq ft suite for entertaining.
Skylofts
The Skylofts at the MGM Grand deserve a category all of their own. In essence, the Skylofts are like a mini resort within the MGM Grand property. With a location on the upper floor, the Skylofts are the most prestigious suites offered by the hotel brand.
The Skylofts are available in a one-bedroom, two-bedroom, or three-bedroom configuration and measure between 1400 and 6000 sq ft. When staying in one of the Skylofts, you’re also privy to what’s called the Skyloft experience. This includes your own personal butler and concierge services, a private dedicated Skyloft lobby, twice daily housekeeping services, suites with Nespresso machines, world-class tea selection, Bvlgari bath accessories, an infinity edge spa tub, and luxury transportation to and from the airport.
The Skylofts are so exclusive that you can’t find any reliable information about the price online. Instead, you need to contact the MGM Grand Resort directly for cost and details.
Restaurants
Celebrity Restaurants
Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill
For a taste of celebrity eats, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill is one of the few places in the hotel that serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner at a reasonable cost– plus, they stay open late at night! The menu is a sort of fusion between American and worldly cuisine. You can find both elevated classics and new dishes to ignite your taste buds.
Morimoto Las Vegas
Chef Morimoto is one of our all-time favorites, and this restaurant of his ranks high on our list of the best restaurants for Japanese cuisine in Las Vegas. We like to start with the Wagyu beef carpaccio, then move on to an entree of braised black cod or angry chicken. Innovative Japanese dishes are found throughout the menu, but there are also steaks, sushi, sashimi, and maki. Morimoto Las Vegas is a mid-price restaurant with a business casual dress code.
Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak
Tom Colicchio is a James Beard Award-winning chef, and you can taste the fruits of his talent when you dine at Craftsteak. This is an elevated, modern steakhouse experience where the domestic and Japanese Wagyu steaks are mouth-wateringly delicious. For non-steak lovers, the raw bar is also top-notch. There’s also an impressive list of fine bourbon and scotch to accompany your meal.
International Smoke
International Smoke is a newer restaurant by celebrity chef Michael Mina and Ayesha Curry. This casual spot offers delicious food and a fun atmosphere. This is the sort of place where you can be served a cocktail in a Spam can and enjoy meals like Caribbean-spiced chicken or a wood-fired tomahawk ribeye. The prices are average for Las Vegas, and the atmosphere (and dress code) is casual.
Joel Robuchon
Joel Robuchon in Las Vegas is a three Michelin Star French restaurant that has also received other prestigious accolades, including the AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five Star awards. For an elegant fine-dining experience, Joel Robuchon is one of the best.
Guests at Joel Robouchon can choose the Menu Degustation or create their own menu with multiple courses from select dishes on the menu. Prepare for a sensory experience and not just a nice meal at Joel Robuchon.
L’Atelier Joel Robuchon
L’Atelier is another fine dining option from acclaimed chef Joel Robuchon. While this restaurant is as elegant as his other namesake restaurant, it feels just a little more relaxed. This could be in part due to the unique dining concept of every dish being prepared before your eyes. Reservations are required.

Sometimes all you really want is a quick bite or a super low-key lunch that doesn’t involve reservations at a restaurant. In this case, the dining options at the MGM Grand food court are right up your alley. It’s a family-friendly food court, so it’s also a great place to grab something quick to eat when you have the entire family along for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Bars & Nightlife
The MGM Grand Hotel doesn’t offer a huge selection of bars and clubs, but the ones they do offer are well-known in the Las Vegas nightlife scene. The Hakkasan Nightclub is where you can find some of the hottest, most exclusive parties in Vegas, and the Whiskey Down is a favorite casual spot for whiskey enthusiasts. Here’s a list of the bars and clubs that are located at the MGM Grand.
- Centrifuge
- Whiskey Down

Shows & Entertainment
Ongoing Shows at MGM Grand In Las Vegas
Ongoing Shows at MGM Grand are some of the most popular in all of Las Vegas. Epic productions like Ka by Cirque du Soleil and Jabbawockeez call the MGM Grand their home. For magic, David Copperfield is a must-see, and Brad Garrett is there to tickle your funny bone. If you aren’t interested in what you see here, check out the lineup of shows at other MGM Resorts International properties, such as
Show times and dates are listed on the hotel’s site for all of the following productions.
- Ka by Cirque du Soleil
- Jabbawockeez Timeless
- David Copperfield
- Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club
MGM Grand Garden Arena
The MGM Grand Arena is an arena-style theater for headlining concerts and events in Las Vegas. There’s always something exciting happening here, so check ahead of time once you know the dates you’re going to be in Las Vegas and see if there’s an event that strikes your fancy.
Attractions
Top Golf -Top Golf is this insane entertainment venue. Enjoy cocktails, mingle, play golf, dance, swim, party, and more.
Zero Latency – MGM Grand’s free-range VR experience where you and a group of friends (or complete strangers) join forces to fight off zombies, solve fantastical puzzles, or escape the clutches of a deadly virus.
Hunger Games – The Exhibition – Explore the Hunger Games in ways that just aren’t possible from the big screen or pages of a book. This interactive exhibit is a fun experience for fans of the Hunger Games series, as well as those who have never even heard of Katniss.
Pool
Practically every hotel on the Las Vegas Strip has an outdoor swimming pool, but many of them are lackluster compared to the pool complex at MGM Grand Las Vegas. In our opinion, this isn’t just a pool but also a complete daytime entertainment complex.
The 6.5-acre pool complex features four pools, a lazy river, waterfalls, cabanas, poolside drinks, eats, and more.
The MGM Grand Las Vegas pool complex is accessible to all resort guests, and access is completely free. The pool is open daily from 8 am until 7 pm, which is actually a little later than many other Las Vegas hotel pools.
Lazy River
The MGM Grand pool complex is massive, but the standout feature is the Lazy River. The Lazy River is family-friendly, flows along for 1,000 feet, and measures 3.5 ft in depth. One of our favorite things is just to sit back in a floaty and let the river carry us along, past waterfalls, bridges, and the beautiful landscape.
Wet Republic Ultra Pool
For those whose idea of a “relaxing” day at the pool involves a high-energy pool party, the MGM Grand Hotel offers the Wet Republic Ultra Pool. The Wet Republic Ultra Pool is an adult-only venue for guests 21+. It has won awards for being the best pool party in Las Vegas and also for having the best DJ lineup. Sounds hard to resist, right? For a hot party scene, we agree.
You can either just come and hang out at the pool party or live it up VIP-style with a private cabana and bottle service.
The Wet Republic Ultra Pool is open daily except for Tuesday & Wednesday. The hours are 11 am until 5 pm. Hotel guests get free admission all day on Monday & Thursday and from open until 3 pm on Friday & Sunday.
Unlike the rest of the pool complex at the MGM Grand Hotel, those who are not staying at the resort can purchase admission into the Wet Republic Pool.
Spa & Fitness Center
A stay at a luxurious Las Vegas resort isn’t complete with a trip to the spa for a pampering service or two. The MGM Grand Spa is one of the property amenities that we absolutely can’t pass up whenever we’re staying at the resort.
The Grand Spa offers thirty treatment rooms where you can relax and enjoy various types of services, including custom massages, couples’ massages, nourishing wraps, skin enhancements, facials, other body treatments, and more. There’s also a salon on site if you’d like a little help getting fancy for a special night out in the city.
There’s also a fitness center for guests to use. It’s nothing extremely fancy, but it offers enough great equipment that we can’t complain. There’s weight lifting equipment, cardiovascular equipment, and more. Working out might not be the first thing you think of when visiting Las Vegas, but being able to keep up healthy routines just feels good.
Casino & Sportsbook
The MGM Grand Hotel has one of the largest casino floors in Las Vegas. The MGM Resorts International property offers a casino floor that measures 171,500 sq ft. For reference, a regulation American football field measures 57,600 sq ft – so the casino is massive.
You’ll find all of your gaming favorites in the casino, including a wide range of table games, a great selection of slot machines, and a designated poker room.
Hotel Policies
Check-In & Check-Out Times
The check-in time at the MGM Grand Hotel is 3 pm, with the standard check-out time being 11 am. Early check-in and late check-out are available for an additional fee based on availability. It’s best to inquire soon rather than later about these options.
Mobile check-in and check-out services are available. If you’ve made a reservation online, make sure to bring your booking confirmation number with you to the front desk when you arrive.
Reservations
Reservations can be made online or by contacting the MGM Grand location directly at 877-880-0880. By booking on the MGM Grand site, you can get a better idea of which rooms and suites are available for your desired dates and also shop around a little for the best deals.
Travelers looking to avoid the crowds should plan their trip for the slower season between September and November. Summer months from June through August are typically the busiest.
Resort Fee
In Las Vegas, it’s common for hotels to charge a resort fee, and the MGM Grand Hotel is no different. The resort fee is currently $50 per night of your stay and covers the cost of certain amenities. Unfortunately, the resort fee is not optional, but upper tiers of the MGM Rewards program may be eligible to have the fees waived.
Pet Policy
If you’re wondering if you can bring Fido and Fluffy along for your stay at the MGM Grand, the answer is yes, “pets allowed.” Dogs are allowed, with a maximum of two pets per room, and their combined weight must not exceed 100 lbs.
There is an additional fee for bringing your pets to stay at the property, and they are not to be left alone in your hotel room unless they are kenneled. Also, note that pets are not allowed in public areas of the resort unless they are passing through or are registered service animals.
Parking
If it has been a couple of years since you visited the MGM Grand Las Vegas, the resort may have been offering free parking when you were there. Following the lifting of pandemic restrictions, MGM Resorts offered free parking as a way to attract more visitors to their properties. While the free parking was nice, it no longer exists. Visitors and guests of the property will have to pay regular parking fees.
Guests staying here can choose to have the total price of their parking added to their room bill. Just bring your parking ticket to the front desk staff when you check-in. From that point on, you can use your room key and enjoy unlimited in and out privileges from both the self-parking garage and valet parking services.
Self-Parking
[wptb id="534508" not found ]Self-parking is available in the spacious parking structure. The first hour is free for everyone, but after that, you’ll pay based on how long you’re parked at the property. Current Nevada residents who have a current and valid state ID or driver’s license can receive up to three hours of free parking.
Valet Parking
[wptb id="534509" not found ]Valet services are available for both guests staying at the hotel and those just visiting. Unlike self-parking, the first hour isn’t free. Guests are charged for parking based on how long they stay – up to two hours, two to four hours, and up to twenty-four hours. Guests who are staying at the MGM Grand Hotel will be charged a flat per-day rate for valet services.
EV Charging
There are several EV charging ports in the MGM Grand parking structure. They’re located on the second level in the northeast corner. Most other MGM Resorts properties in Las Vegas also have EV charging stations in their parking garages.
