Hunger Games Las Vegas

The Hunger Games at MGM Grand is set to close, according to Vital Vegas.

Hunger Games Las Vegas is a fun, interactive experience that takes you on an epic journey through the world-renowned blockbuster film franchise – The Hunger Games. It’s part museum, part adventure and is designed to be an enjoyable experience for adults and kids of all ages. The question we’ve been getting is if Hunger Games: The Exhibition is worth the price of admission.

What we found is that Hunger Games: The Exhibition celebrates the entire series, from the moment Katniss departs through to the very end. In our opinion, it’s a rather small exhibition, at least compared to some of the others we’ve been to. That said, the exhibits are definitely fun for fans of the movie, and seeing the authentic costumes in person is really interesting. Here are more details about the Hunger Games exhibit for your next Las Vegas trip.

Exhibits

Hunger Games: The Exhibition is like a museum devoted to the popular book and movie series but with more interactive activities. Visitors get the chance to see exclusive behind-the-scenes content, real costumes that were worn during the filming of the movies, a tribute train ride, an archery experience, and more. We found the different attractions to offer a good variety of things to do and see at the exhibit.

It’s also worth noting that Hunger Games: The Exhibition was created by the same team that brought Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N to the Las Vegas Strip. If you’re familiar with the Marvel Avenger’s attraction, the level of creativity and authenticity put into that attraction is the same that you’ll find with this venue.

Archery Simulation

Archery Simulation

In our opinion, the archery simulation is a contender for the best part of this exhibit. The archery experience lets you practice your aim and engage in a little competitive fun with the bow and arrow. Don’t worry; there’s training first, so you’ll look like a pro. This attraction is great fun for guests with a competitive streak, even without any previous archery experience. And yes, the arrow game is suitable for children – there aren’t any sharp projectiles flying at you.

Costume Gallery

When you first enter, you enter a forested area, which helps to set the tone for the experience. As you move along and explore, you’ll see mannequins positioned throughout, wearing the iconic costumes that you’ve seen in the movies – say hello to the wedding dress Katniss wore.

In addition to the mannequins, there’s also a separate costume museum area where some of the most notorious costumes,  including the gowns, are on display.

Tribute Train Ride & More

We thought the archery training and costume display were some of the coolest experiences, but there are plenty more additional interactives to enjoy. For example, you can jump on the tribute train and experience the life and humble beginnings of Katniss Everdeen.

Visit President Snow’s office and take some photos of yourself sitting in the desk chair, explore a map of Panem, try your hand at trivia, see the props from the movie in real life, visit the Hall of Justice, District 13, and more.

Shop

Once you’ve made your way through all of the museum and interactive experiences, like trying your hand at the archery game, seeing all the costumes and props, visiting President Snow’s office, and more, make sure to make a visit to the retail shop.

This is where you can find exclusive merchandise of the world of Katniss and the Hunger Games. Much of the merchandise here was created specifically for the exhibition, so you’re not going to find it anywhere else in the world, and much of it is limited edition merchandise. Of course, you can find a Mockingjay Pin or various district pins, but there’s also some really cool merchandise that you can either wear or proudly display once you get home.

The retail shop is open at the same hours as the exhibit.

Reviews

reviews for Hunger Games

The online reviews for Hunger Games: The Exhibition are a bit mixed. Overall, the reviews are decent, but there are some noticeable points that we’ve seen repeated. The main complaint from the masses seems to be that it’s a very small exhibition and that the ticket prices are a bit steep. In other words, there isn’t great value for the money.

Personally, we think this depends on how into the books and movies you are. If you’re kinda “meh” about them, then we agree this might not be a really great experience for you. If you are a big fan, then the exhibit is cool, especially the costumes and opportunity to shoot arrows “Katniss-style.”

If you’re not sure if this attraction is worth the money for you, we suggest checking out some photos on Google Reviews or a YouTube video for a better feel of what to expect.

Cost of Tickets

It would be great if the Hunger Games Exhibition were free, but it’s not. However, tickets are about right in line with what you’ll pay for other museums and exhibits in Las Vegas.

This venue is for all ages. For adults, tickets are $49.95, and children’s tickets are available at a discounted price of $39.95. Currently, there aren’t any discounts listed for locals, seniors, or the military. However, if you do a little digging, you might be able to score a discount from third-party sites.

Hours

Hunger Games: The Exhibition is open daily from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm. For fans especially, it’s a total blast, so visitors should plan on spending a couple of hours at the exhibit. For this reason, keep in mind when purchasing your tickets that the last admittance into the exhibit is at 5:00 pm.

Location

Hunger Games: The Exhibition is located in the District at the MGM Grand Las Vegas. To get there, walk past the front desk and into the casino. Turn right after passing the Lobby Bar and head in the direction of the KA box office. Once you get to Wolfgang Puck, make a right and head into The District. The Hungers Games is right after the wedding chapel and will be on your right.
