Las Vegas gets extremely hot, especially during the summer. After all, it is a desert environment. Waterparks make a great way to stay entertained and keep cool while on vacation in Vegas. They are also a great family-friendly activity that the adults will love just as much as the kids. One greatest in Las Vegas is Cowabunga Bay Water Park.
This popular destination has everything you need to cool off and have a memorable family fun day. The logistics of getting your party together can get complicated, but don’t worry, here’s everything you need to know before you go.
Cowabunga Bay Water Park
In this favorite Vegas destination, you’ll find pools of fun, including 16 slides, attractions, and shopping and dining on-site. There are also VIP upgrades available.
Rides

Ten of the rides are various water slides that each have a different thrill level. There are slides for groups, pairs, and single riders. Wild Surf is one of the slides for groups, with four-person rafts that carry you down a 60-foot high drop into the world’s largest man-made wave.
One of the slides designed for pairs is the Rock-A-Hoola, a 300-foot-long slide that leads to a giant bowl where you’ll spin around and drop into the pool below. For the single riders, try the Surfin’ USA slide and race others side by side down a 50-foot drop reaching speeds of 40 feet while going over multiple dips. For the younger kids, the Squigglers slides are a go-to. The Squigglers are twin 360 spin slides that provide the perfect thrill for kids under 54 inches tall.
In addition to the water slides, other attractions include the Boardwalk Bay, a temperature-controlled pool with playful fountains, or the Cowabunga River – a lazy river with things to look at like a ‘67 VW bug, giant surfboards and several water features.

Guests can also jump waves in the Surf-A-Rama Wave Pool, which has rolling four-foot waves and a beach entrance. The Surf-A-Rama Wave Pool is 35,000 square feet, making it the largest in Nevada. Though all ages will enjoy the relaxing pool, the wave pool, and the lazy river, younger kids under 48 inches tall will love Cowabunga Kids Cove. The Cowabunga Kids Cove has a shallow heated pool and small slides perfect for their size.
Shopping and Dining

If you forget some sunny day essentials or get hungry after all of the fun, Cowabunga has shopping and dining on-site. The Cowabunga Trader Store carries everything you might need for a day of fun in the sun, like a selection of towels, flip-flops, sunscreen, and sunglasses. You can also find quick treats and souvenirs at the Cowabunga Trader Store.
When you get hungry or are ready for a sweet treat, there are plenty of onsite selections. Adults will enjoy Boris’ Bora Bora Bar, which serves beer and wine, as well as wine-based frozen drinks like Strawberry Daiquiris and Pina Coladas.
Bullwinkle’s Boardwalk Grille is a go-to full-service eatery with burgers, chicken strips, pizza, sandwiches, their signature bucket of fries, and more to feed the whole gang.

If you just want a quick bite by the wave pool, Duke’s Surfside Snacks has a famous Footlong Hot Dog with multiple topping options and other favorites like soft pretzels and nachos.
Add some sweetness to your day with the many treat carts like County Fair Sweets and Treats, Dippin Dots, Funnel Cakes, Hawaiian Shave Ice, and Slush Factory.
