Venetian vs Palazzo: Suites, Restaurants & Things to Do

A plane ticket to Venice, or the time off to make the trip, aren’t things that many of us can just snap our fingers and have magically appear. However, you can come pretty close to the real thing when you visit the Venetian Las Vegas or the Palazzo. 

The Venetian graced the Las Vegas Strip with its presence when it opened in 1999. It opened at the site of the old Sands Hotel. Today, the Venetian Resort stands thirty-six stories high, with the addition of the Venezia Tower in 2003, adding an additional 1,013 rooms to the property. There are an additional 3,016 suites in the Venetian Tower.

The Palazzo is the newer luxurious resort that was added to the property a little less than a decade later in 2008. The Palazzo is a luxurious resort with a similar Italian theme but more modern. The Palazzo Tower features 3,064 suites. 

While the Venetian is known for its authentic Italian Architecture, the Palazzo stands out as a big deal for a few features of its own. At 642ft, the Palazzo is one of the tallest completed buildings, not only in Las Vegas but also in the whole of Nevada. It’s also home to a two-story porte-cochere, which is something you’re not going to see anywhere else in Nevada. 

The Venetian and Palazzo are both gorgeous Las Vegas hotels, each with its own “attitude” and ambiance. The Venetian and Palazzo are so closely connected that it’s not always easy to tell where one begins and the other ends. Here’s a closer look at the differences in rooms, suites, restaurants, entertainment, and more. 

When comparing the Venetian Vs. Palazzo, rooms are the first thing on your mind. After all, the rest of the experience doesn’t really matter much if you don’t have a wonderful place to lay your head after a full day and night of indulging in Las Vegas.

In truth, the hotel rooms are very similar. Everything from the layout, amenities, and Italian decor transcends one hotel to the next. However, there are some minor differences to consider, so that’s what we’ll look at here. 

Venetian Rooms & Suites 

Premium Two Queen Suite 

The “smallest” suite at the Venetian is 1,100 sq ft and offers a dose of the opulence of being greeted by an Italian marble foyer when you first walk in. There’s a separate sunken living room area with a sleeper sofa, a work area, a dining table, and a deep tub you’ll love soaking in. 

Luxury King Suite 

The Luxury King Suite is similar to the Luxury suite with two queen beds, except it’s larger at 1,500 sq ft and features a private bedroom and an oversized bathroom with a jetted tub. The Italian marble foyer welcomes you through double doors, and you’ll immediately feel right at home. 

Grand King Suite 

The Grand King Suite is pure elegance, with luxury features and amenities at every turn. This suite measures 1500 sq ft and features a master bedroom with a Grand King bed with premium Egyptian linens and plush pillows. One and a half baths, plus gorgeous views, make this one of the best suites at the Venetian Las Vegas. 

Grand One Bedroom Suite 

At 1300 sq ft, the Grand One Bedroom Suite offers everything you’re looking for in a one-bedroom luxury suite in Las Vegas. Experience amazing views from the private bedroom, relax in the separate living room, indulge yourself in a soak in the jetted tub in the oversized bathroom, or sip on a cocktail prepared at the oversized bar. 

Executive King Suite 

The Executive King Suite at the Venetian Las Vegas is the largest among the standard suites. It features 1820 sq ft of spaciousness. It offers a separate living room area, dining room, and a private workout room, plus all the standard Venetian amenities. 

Penthouse Suite 

The two-bedroom penthouse suite at the Venetian is all about experiencing Las Vegas in style. 

At 2600 sq ft, there’s more than ample space, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offer some of the best views of Las Vegas – which are even more enjoyable when you’re sitting by the Penthouse Suite fire with a glass of wine in hand.  

Chairman Suite

The Chairman Suite is huge, offering four bedrooms and 8000-9000 sq ft of space. This is the high-end suite at the Venetian. It comes with its own private theater or media room, private workout room, and a separate living room, plus Prestige Club Lounge access and VIP concierge service. 

Palazzo Rooms and Suites  

Premium King Suite 

The Premium King Suite at the Palazzo offers a wonderful upgrade from the hotel’s standard suite. With 942 sq ft of space, you can enjoy guaranteed views of either the Las Vegas Strip or the Palazzo pool. A sunken living room, Roman-style tub, and premium beddings make this a must-have upgrade at the Palazzo. 

Grand One Bedroom Suite 

The Grand One Bedroom Suite offers 1280 sq ft of space that greets you with elegance and sophistication as you enter through the double doors into the Italian marble foyer. The views from the Grand One Bedroom Suite are amazing, and the oversized bathroom is drool-worthy. 

Executive Suites

The Palazzo Executive Suites offer 1850 sq ft of space and are ideal for business travelers and those planning on doing a little entertaining during their stay in Las Vegas. Choose from having a pool table, piano, or movie theater in your suite. 

Penthouse Suite 

The Penthouse suite offers 3240 sq ft of space and two bedrooms, plus a dining room, views, luxury amenities, and more. You also get access to the Prestige Club Lounge and VIP Concierge services.  

Presidential Suite 

The Presidential Suite offers three to four bedrooms with 6277 sq ft of space. The bedrooms include both a master king bed and rooms with two queen beds. Amenities include a separate living room, a massage parlor, air conditioning, a full bar, and more. 

Chairman Suite 

It’s hard to find words to describe the Chairman Suite at the Palazzo. It offers more than 6300 sq ft of space with three to four bedrooms and amenities that include a private pool, sauna, steam room, generously spacious lounge area, and views of Las Vegas that never quit. This suite also includes access to the Prestige Lounge. 

When you’re staying at either the Venetian or the Palazzo, you have access to an incredible variety of restaurants because no matter which hotel you’re staying at, you’re within easy walking distance of the restaurants in each. 

The variety of restaurants is incredible. There are celebrity chef restaurants, like Bouchon by Thomas Keller and Delmonico Steakhouse by Emeril Lagasse. Wolfgang Puck and Buddy Valastro also have a presence, among other names you’ll surely recognize. 

Between the Venetian and Palazzo Las Vegas, they have worldly cuisines covered. American classics, Asian cuisine, French, Italian, Latin, Greek — You name it! Many restaurants also offer vegan selections on their menu. And of course, there’s also a food court available. 

Another thing that the two resorts also have in common is the Grand Lux Cafe. Each resort has its own Grand Lux Cafe, so if this is a favorite restaurant of yours, then you are in luck!

It feels safe to say that you’re not going to go hungry at either resort, but Venetian wins out for having the most variety of restaurants. In all fairness, the Venetian has been a fixture in Las Vegas longer than the Palazzo and is considered the “big sister” of the two. 

When in Las Vegas, there are several things you must do. Eat, play, and lounge the afternoon away poolside at the resort. The Palazzo and the Venetian Hotel both offer a gorgeous pool deck with cabanas, chaise lounges, and poolside spa services, all waiting for you to indulge yourself in. 

Venetian Hotel Pool

The Venetian pool deck has been recently renovated and sits on two acres, so there’s plenty of room to both lounge and play. The Venetian offers four different pools, which is wonderful because there is usually a different feel to each. You might find a hot pool party at one pool and then wander over to find another that’s more family-friendly. There’s a spot for everyone to enjoy the water and sun. 

Each azure pool is like its own oasis, with very Mediterranean-feeling backdrops, complete with sculptures and cool white. 

There are literally hundreds of chairs and chaise lounges to relax in, with plenty of umbrellas to shade those rays from the Las Vegas sun. Infinity pools and in-water ledge seating lend a very sophisticated feel to the Venetian Hotel pool deck. 

The Venetian is also home to the Tao Beach Day Club, which is one of the hottest pool party venues in Las Vegas. 

Venetian Cabanas 

Cabanas and daybeds are available to rent at the Venetian pool. The cabanas are insanely spacious, with many of them measuring larger than the average hotel room in Las Vegas. Venetian cabanas offer a poolside space to relax (or party) for up to twelve people and range in size from 310 sq ft to 788 sq ft. 

Expect all the amenities, like a fully stocked bar, a safe for your valuables, towel service, and your own personal cabana host. Comfortable furniture, along with large screen televisions, charging stations, free wifi, a private restroom, and misters round out the list of amenities. 

Most hotels in Las Vegas offer one type of cabana at their pool. That’s not how the Venetian Hotel does things! In addition to their standard cabanas, they also offer cabanas with a private plunge pool. These have all the same amenities as the standard cabanas but are far more spacious, measuring up to 1450 sq ft. 

Palazzo Las Vegas Pool 

The Palazzo pool deck is a little more subdued than the one at the Venetian. That’s not to say that you can’t have fun here. It’s just that it offers an overall toned-down vibe. The pool complex is a little smaller, with the pristine waters of the Palazzo’s azure pool and lush landscaping surrounding the pools. Where the Venetian pool is a Mediterranean feeling with hues of blue, white, and black, the Palazzo pool definitely has a warmer feel to it. 

The Palazzo pool offers shallow lounging pools for when you just want to dip your toes or soak your legs but don’t want to dive in for a full swim. There are also hot tubs, and the pools are heated, so they’re open year-round (depending on the weather). 

Palazzo Las Vegas Cabanas 

If you really want the experience of a poolside cabana, you might have better luck finding one at the Palazzo. Where the Venetian only has six standard and four plunge pool cabanas, the Palazzo offers thirty cabanas for their guests. 

The Palazzo cabanas are smaller than the Venetians, measuring about 180 sq fr. They can accommodate up to twelve guests, but there is an additional fee if you’re hosting eight or more people. 

The cabanas are air-conditioned and have misters, a stocked refrigerator, a television, a safe, and a personal host to tend to your needs. 

Palazzo also offers a few deluxe cabanas. These are the same size as the standard cabanas but are closer to the pool, offer more comfortable furnishings, and come with a seasonal fruit plate to enjoy.

The Canyon Ranch Spa is a luxurious spa, wellness, fitness center, and salon that can be accessed through a separate entrance from both the Venetian and the Palazzo Hotel. 

Canyon Ranch offers the ultimate relaxation experience, with a menu of more than a hundred and twenty spa and beauty treatments. The menu includes Ayurvedic treatments and Eastern therapies, like Shiatsu Massage, reflexology, and Thai massage. There’s an extensive menu of body treatments featuring a long list of indulgent body scrubs, a seaweed cocoon, and Yon-Ka journeys. 

Professional massage therapists offer relaxing massages for every need, from prenatal massage and a sole rejuvenation massage to a tranquility massage and personalized couples treatments. Are you feeling relaxed yet just reading this?

In-suite services are available, as well as a private mini-salon service for you and several friends, which also includes a generous food credit. 

Speaking of food, the Canyon Ranch Grill is the perfect spot to enjoy a fresh, light, and healthy breakfast or lunch after your spa treatment or time spent in the workout room. There’s no reason the pampering has to stop after the massage or body wrap, especially when you can enjoy nourishing dishes that satisfy your soul. 

Technically, the Canyon Ranch Spa belongs to the Venetian, but it’s considered to be shared by both properties. The Palazzo Hotel does not offer a separate spa for its guests. 

If you stay at the Palazzo or Venetian, you have easy access to not one but two casinos. Between the two resorts combined, there are nearly 200,000 sq ft of casino floor space for you to enjoy. 

The Venetian casino is overall larger than the Palazzo casino and offers the biggest poker rooms, but you’re not missing out by choosing one over the other. 

The main difference between the two casinos is traffic and atmosphere. The Venetian casino tends to be busier and, therefore, a little noisier than the Palazzo casino. If you like a casino that feels a little more toned down and sophisticated, the Palazzo will likely be your best choice. Again, with the two casinos being so close to each other, traffic does flow freely between the two, so the atmosphere can change on a dime at any point. 

Both casinos offer a high-limits slot salon and a high-limits table salon. The Venetian does also offer a larger poker room and the Race & Sportsbook. 

Between the two properties, there are a total of four theatres and showrooms. The Palazzo is home to one of them called the Palazzo Theatre. The other three are located in the Venetian. These include the Venetian Theater, the Opaline Theatre, and the Summit Showroom. 

Overall, the Venetian hosts more show, concerts, and events than the Palazzo. In terms of size, the Venetian Theatre is considerably larger than the theatre at the Palazzo. That said, the Palazzo is where you can find Broadway productions like SIX The Musical. 

Most concerts and acts perform at the Venetian Theatre. Unlike other hotels that host resident shows, like Cirque du Soleil or Piff the Magic Dragon, neither the Venetian nor Palazzo have a lineup of resident shows. Instead, they offer an exciting calendar of concerts and shows that you have to catch before they’re gone.  

The Atrium at the Grand Canal Shoppes does have recurring shows, like the Atomic Saloon Show, and street performances in St Mark’s Square. 

When comparing the Venetian Vs. Palazzo Resort Hotel & Casino, there’s one area they definitely have in common. They’re both located at the same spot on Las Vegas Boulevard. When you find one, it’s super easy to find the other! 

Who wins the comparison between the Venetian Vs. Palazzo? They each offer luxurious suites, along with dining, entertainment, casinos, and luxury amenities. Overall, for the average traveler, the Venetian wins out simply because it offers more. However, for a more boutique feel, the Palazzo is the Venetian’s younger, more modern sister that’s a little quieter but not lacking anything in terms of style or amenities.
