Comparing Buffets
When comparing buffets in Las Vegas, there are several factors to consider. We’ve broken it out below so you know what to look for.
Price
Obviously, the first thing everyone wants to know is the price. Buffet prices in Las Vegas range from $20 – $100 per person, and kids are generally half-price.
Hours
With fewer buffet options post-Covid, you really have to look at what days and times the buffets are open and if they fit into your schedule.
You might assume all buffets are open for dinner, but you’d be disappointed these days to find that almost half of them are closed for dinner or only on weekends.
Selection
Today, a buffet is judged by the number of stations and the amount of selection offered. Some people frequent buffets just to try new foods they wouldn’t normally be exposed to without having to order a full plate at a restaurant. So, selection matters.
There are some basics everyone expects to see at a Vegas buffet, like a carving station with a selection of meats, a seafood station, an Italian station with pizza and pasta, an Asian station with sushi, and a Mexican station with tacos and other Latin dishes, and of course a dessert station.
When you get to the higher-end buffets, you’ll find specialties like crab legs, lobster, and lamb.
Live stations where you get made-to-order pasta and omelets are a real hit, so search those out.
Food Quality and Taste
We all know the difference in taste between fine dining food and take-out or quick-serve food.
Is there seafood just freshly flown in today, or do they have day-old sushi, bread, or reheated mac and cheese?
Location
Unless you’re a local, you have to consider transportation to the buffet, so location matters. If you’re staying on the strip, it might be easier to walk downstairs from your room and go to the hotel’s buffet or a neighboring hotel’s buffet.
If you’re staying downtown, you only have one option – Main Street Station buffet. So pay attention to whether the buffet you want is easy to get to.

What other information would you like to see in the comparison chart?
Tks for sharing!
Can u tell me where is best place to have crab(king crab legs) for monday lunch?
The best place in Vegas for king crab legs is Joe’s Seafood at Caesars Forum Shops, and they open at 11:30am for lunch. Second best is Water Grill at Forum Shops and they open at 11am. Enjoy!
Me and my misses will there December 30, 2024 for our anniversary. Would it be possible to get an update food deal list or coupons?
Will be in downtown Vegas in September. Would like to know if there’s any restaurants that offers Dungeness crab ?

So the Saturday Dinner price at the Bellagio Buffet is $74.99 or $79.99???
It’s $79.99 Friday and Saturday, $74.99 the rest of the week.
Could you please update the list of the Brunch Buffet that currently open?
I’m planning the visit in October.
You can find more detailed information about Las Vegas buffets serving brunch here.
We are headed that way after Valentines day and I haven’t been there since 2019. I’m actually bringing my kids this time and I’m so happy you have the kids prices. Any chance, these places offer a military discount?
No sorry, I haven’t seen a military discount yet.
Staying at Ballys. In March 2023. Would like to spend more money on slot an not on food where are the best places to eat around Ballys . I have not been to Vegas in about 10 years.
Bally’s is now called the Horseshoe, and they currently have one good restaurant called Jack Binions Steak, but they will be opening a Gordon Ramsay restaurant there soon – not sure if it will be open before March for your visit. They also have a food court with Johnny Rockets, Nathan’s, Pan Asian, Subway, and Sbarro:

I’m going to Vegas in March, Some of the main Hotels have crazy prices. Looking to have a good time but I don’t want to sell the house.Lol Looking for must see concert also.
Please update. Some of these are closed, and sadly, forever “they” say.

Many thanks for the info. It was very helpful!
This is super helpful, thank you. Would be great if you could add a column for unlimited drinks prices too so you can weight up the full cost.
So far so good. In addition to Downtown buffets I’d love to see off strip buffets. Some of the best buffets for the price can be found around the area. Palms, The Orleans, Green Valley Ranch, M, Silverton & Red Rock are all great values for their food.
Great point Robert. We will add the off-strip buffets to the list in the coming weeks. Thanks!
This is super, we are going to Vegas in Nov and staying Downtown. Can not wait for the Downtown list, such a great job!! Thanks
