Excalibur Buffet

Last Updated on February 28, 2023

The Excalibur Hotel is known for its castle aesthetic and is one of the top ten largest resorts on the Las Vegas Strip. It boasts more than 4,000 rooms as well as almost endless entertainment and amenities. However, today we will focus on one of the many places to eat on the property, the Excalibur Buffet.

Though it was previously known as Round Table Buffet, it was renovated in 2014 and has since increased in popularity.

Here’s what you need to know about the buffet at Excalibur Hotel, including menu items, pricing, ways to save hours, and answers to your most frequently asked questions.

Excalibur Las Vegas Buffet Reopening

Like many Las Vegas buffets, after being closed for more than a year, the Excalibur Buffet re-opened in the summer of 2021. However, they have not returned to the same operations they once had.

Instead of offering a separate breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet, they now only have a daily brunch offering. Despite cutting back on its services, the Buffet at Excalibur offers endless variety.

Many of the more upscale buffets re-opened with individual serve portions rather than self-serve in large pans, but the Excalibur is still self-serve.

It still has its old-school look, too, with dark chairs and red booths seating more than 600 guests and the classic red carpet in the dining area.

Brunch Buffet

As we mentioned above, there’s no longer a separate breakfast and lunch buffet. Instead, they offer a daily brunch featuring both breakfast and lunch items.

Breakfast Options

On the breakfast side, you can expect cinnamon french toast, assorted fruit, applewood smoked bacon, pork sausage, turkey sausage, scrambled eggs, strawberry pancakes, an omelets station with made-to-order omelets, huevos rancheros, and a crepe station with made-to-order crepes.

Lunch Selections

Whether you like to eat shrimp, fried chicken, sushi, or a simple salad, you’ll find plenty of lunch food items, too.

At the American station, you can expect options like fried chicken, chicken fried steak, roasted chicken, glazed pork ribs, mashed potatoes with gravy, and cornbread.

Over at the Latin station, you’ll discover a build-your-own burrito bar with toppings like sour cream, guacamole, veggies, and salsas, as well as chicken tamales, seafood paella, baked fish with pineapple salsa, and caramelized plantains.

There is an Asian Station, too, with selections like fried rice, steamed rice, ginger chicken, orange chicken, assorted sushi, and stir fry vegetables.

In the mood for pizza and pasta? At the Italian station, you’ll find cheese ravioli and other pasta dishes, ratatouille, marsala chicken, pizza, and more.

In terms of seafood, you can expect a wide sampling, including snow crab legs, peel-and-eat shrimp, fried shrimp, oysters, and mussels located over by the salad bar area. However, it is important to note that crab legs aren’t always available. See our list of the best Las Vegas seafood buffets.

On the salad bar, there are pre-made salads and all the toppings and dressings you could imagine to build your own salad. Pro tip: Grab some delicious proteins like shrimp, bacon, or roasted chicken from other stations to take your salad to the next level!

Every good buffet has a carving station, and on this one, you’ll find turkey, brisket, lamb, and even grilled vegetables. Though you won’t typically see prime rib here, there are plenty of other higher-end menu items to get you by, like the plethora of seafood, assorted sushi, and made-to-order crepes.

Dessert

The dessert station is the perfect way to end brunch with gluten-free desserts, bread pudding, pies, soft serve, cookies, cakes, and pastries. You have to try the cinnamon rolls, too!

Dinner Buffet

Currently, there is no dinner service. However, you’ll find many of the menu items that were on the dinner buffet now served for brunch, like the peel-and-eat shrimp, carving station favorites, mashed potatoes, and more.

Drinks

Non-alcoholic beverages are included with the brunch buffet. They offer Pepsi products, sparkling water, juice, milk, coffee, and tea. The weekend brunch used to include unlimited champagne before the shutdown, but that is not the case anymore, unfortunately.

All-day Pass

Prior to the pandemic, you were able to purchase an all-day pass which allowed you to come and go making it a great money-saver. Now, since they are only at limited service, there is no day pass option.

Hours & Location

Both the Monday-Thursday weekday brunch and the weekend brunch on Saturday and Sunday are held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. This gives you plenty of time to eat both breakfast and lunch there, but of course, you could just combine the two meals!

The buffet located on the Excalibur property is on the Castle Walk Level down a hallway by the Castle Walk Food Court. For navigation purposes, the address to use is 3850 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109.

Reservations & Dress Code

Dress Code

Reservations are not required at the Excalibur Buffet. However, you may find that during peak times like breakfast between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. or the lunch rush at noon, there may be a line. Even if you happen upon a line, don’t stress because it always moves rather fast.

The posted dress code for the Excalibur Buffet is casual. This means that while shorts and a t-shirt are perfectly fine, you shouldn’t show up in swimwear, pajamas, barefoot, or shirtless.

It is also a family-friendly eatery, so though revealing and sexy outfits definitely have their place in Sin City, this is not one of them. As with any Vegas restaurant, not following the dress code leaves you at risk of being turned away.

Final Thoughts: Compared to the Competition

Excalibur doesn’t have the least expensive all-you-can-eat option in Vegas, but it is also not the most luxurious either.

Compared to the competition, this is a middle-of-the-road establishment balancing price for taste and variety. It is a great choice for families feeding picky kids on a budget, though not the best for getting the true Vegas buffet experience you may be looking for.

  1. No more bottomless mimosas at Excalibur’s breakfast buffet? That was the BEST part of Excalibur, making up for its worn, threadbare rooms. I’m so sorry it’s no longer an option. We’ll look for another place. 😣
