MGM Grand Parking: Fees for Self, Valet, & Arena Parking

The MGM Grand is one of the iconic hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. It’s huge, and it’s one of the pillar properties of MGM Resorts International. With nearly 7,000 rooms, it would seem that parking would be a bear, but that isn’t the case. MGM Grand parking is convenient and easy for guests staying at the hotel and visitors who are stopping by to enjoy the casino, entertainment, and dining that the resort is known for.

MGM Grand Parking: Fees for Self, Valet, & Arena Parking

MGM Grand Parking Fees

Guests who choose self-parking pay the same standard rates across all MGM Resorts. However, there are some differences in valet parking rates among MGM properties. Registered hotel guests have in-out privileges at other MGM Resort properties, but if you’re just visiting the MGM Grand, it’s good to be aware of any differences in price.

Self Parking Garage Fees

Self-park rates at the MGM Grand Las Vegas are based on how long you’re parked at the resort. The first hour is free for all guests, and Nevada residents can receive up to three hours of free parking. After guests receive complimentary hours, fees are based on stays of 1-4 hours and 4-24 hours. So, if you’re parked for four hours and ten minutes, you will have to pay the same rate as someone who stays in the self-parking garage for a full 24 hours.

After the first 24 hours, guests and visitors will pay a flat rate parking fee for every 24 hours thereafter. After the first 24 hours, even staying a fraction of a day will result in a parking fee equal to the full day rate.

Valet Parking Fees

Valet parking is one of the most convenient ways to park your car in Las Vegas. Pull up to the valet, hand the attendant your keys, and let someone else take care of it!

The valet parking fees at MGM Grand are comparable to what you’ll find at other parking facilities on the Las Vegas Strip. For non-hotel guests, valet parking fees are based on a stay of 0-2 hours, 2-4 hours, and 4-24 hours. Non-hotel guests who stay more than 24 hours will be subject to a flat rate valet parking fee per day after the first 24 hours.

Registered hotel guests who choose to use the valet service are charged the flat-rate daily valet parking fee.

Paying & In-Out Privileges

Registered hotel guests at the MGM Grand are also entitled to in-out privileges at all MGM Resorts parking facilities for the same parking type, meaning if you self-park, then you can use other MGM Resorts property parking garages for self-parking using your room keycard for entrance and exit. If you choose to valet park, your daily valet fee covers valet parking at all MGM Resorts Las Vegas hotels.

Registered hotel guests can choose to have their parking fees added to their room bill. Simply take your parking ticket or valet ticket to the front desk when you check in and they attach it to your room, so you only have to swipe your room key to get in and out of the parking garage. If you use valet service, know that tips cannot be added to your room bill, so make sure to carry some cash on you to tip the hard-working valet attendants.

Non-hotel guests need only present their parking ticket at the exit gate of the parking facility. If you don’t want to wait in line, you can choose an expedited exit by paying on foot at a kiosk prior to leaving.

MGM Rewards members will need to swipe their cards to receive complimentary parking benefits. MGM Rewards Mastercard holders will need to swipe or scan their cards as well.

In the event of a lost ticket, the parking garage attendant may be able to help determine your parking fee. If they can’t determine how long you were there, you’ll be subject to a lost ticket fee.

Complimentary parking benefits for the first one or three hours are dependent on availability and may be suspended during special events.

MGM Grand Discounts & Free Parking

Once Las Vegas began to open back up after Covid restrictions were lifted, MGM Grand decided to offer free parking as a way to attract and welcome people back to Las Vegas and back into their casino and hotel. Considering the MGM Grand is among the largest hotels in Las Vegas, this was a very strategic move.

This has left some with the impression that MGM Grand Las Vegas still offers free parking, which, unfortunately, they don’t.

So, while the MGM Grand doesn’t offer completely free self-parking for everyone, they do offer complimentary parking in certain circumstances.

Complimentary Parking for Short Term Visitors

The MGM Grand offers complimentary self-parking for the first hour for all vehicles that self-park in the parking garage. After the first hour, normal parking rates apply.

Nevada residents who have a valid NV driver’s license will receive the first three hours of self-parking for free. After the first three hours, normal self-parking fees apply.

When leaving the parking garage, Nevada residents will need to scan their valid NV driver’s license at the exit gate.

Complimentary parking does not apply to guests who scan their parking ticket at one of the Pay on Foot Kiosks prior to getting in their car. So, make sure you wait until you reach the exit gate to take advantage of those three free hours!

MGM Rewards Members

MGM Rewards Members

Additionally, certain MGM Rewards members are also entitled to a free parking benefit. MGM Rewards members with Pearl, Gold, Platinum, or Noir status don’t have to pay self-parking fees. Guests who are MGM Rewards Mastercard holders also receive free self-parking at the MGM Grand Las Vegas.

Gold, Platinum, and Noir MGM Rewards members receive free valet parking at all MGM Resort properties. Pearl status members are excluded from free valet parking benefits.

MGM Grand Garden Arena Parking

The MGM Grand property is home to the MGM Grand Garden Arena, which hosts major concerts and events. For event parking, you’ll want to park in the regular MGM Grand parking facility. Be warned the parking structure can become absolutely packed during special events. If you’re able to find a spot, be prepared for an excruciatingly long wait to exit.

Short-term visitors should avoid the parking garage during special events because the wait to get out can exceed the grace period for MGM Grand’s free parking policy.

If you want to avoid the crowded parking garage and long lines, you can always park elsewhere in Las Vegas and either walk to the arena or take alternate transportation.

The New York New York Hotel and the Tropicana are both close to MGM Grand. If you want to park a little further away, hotels like Mandalay Bay and Park MGM will put you in close range of Las Vegas trams. Rideshares and shuttles are also options, but you’ll want to plan ahead for those.

Electric Vehicle Charging

MGM Grand has made an effort in recent years to be more eco-friendly, and this has included adding EV charging spots in MGM Grand, along with other MGM Resorts properties, including Bellagio, Aria, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, New York, New York, and Excalibur.

You can find two EV charging stalls located on the northeast corner of the second level of the self-parking garage.

Oversized Vehicle Parking

Oversized Vehicle Parking

The MGM Grand Las Vegas doesn’t offer oversized parking. However, oversized parking is available at two other MGM Resorts Las Vegas hotels – Excalibur and Mirage. Oversized vehicle parking is charged at a flat rate per day, based on the size of your vehicle. Check in with the front desk at MGM Grand for assistance with parking your oversized vehicle.

Oversized parking is complimentary for MGM Rewards Members (Pearl, Gold, Platinum, and Noir status), as well as for MGM Rewards Mastercard cardholders.

MGM Grand Parking Entrance And Map

Tropicana Avenue is the easiest route to the MGM Grand parking garage. You’ll see the MGM Grand and Audrie St. From Tropicana Ave. You’ll turn onto Audrie St. If you’re heading to the self-park garage, take a right at the parking structure. If you plan to use valet services, go left toward the signs for valet parking and the valet desk.

Parking at MGM Resorts International

As mentioned earlier, guests who stay at the MGM Grand have in & out parking privileges at all MGM Resorts in Las Vegas. This makes it super easy to explore the casinos, dining, and entertainment venues that MGM Resorts is known for.

MGM Resorts properties in Las Vegas include MGM Grand, Park MGM, Mandalay Bay, New York, New York, Mirage, Luxor, Excalibur, Aria, and Bellagio.
