When you walk into this Asian restaurant, you’ll immediately be greeted by deep rich reds, gold patterns, luxe finishes, intriguing textures, and an overall cozy dining room. Despite a moderate price range, the ambiance feels like a more upscale dining experience.

Dim Sum

Dim sum is a collection of small Chinese dishes that often include steamed buns and dumplings. Though it is associated with Cantonese cuisine, you can often find them at Chinese restaurants that hail from other regions as well. The selections include Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, Pan Fried Chive Dumplings, and Deep Fried Crab Claw.

Soup

Soup is often overlooked, though there are some quite tasty options. For instance, the Oxtail soup is highly raved about, and of course, you can’t beat the Classic Hot & Sour soup.

Appetizers

If you are all about the appetizers, consider ordering the Malaysian Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce, Cantonese Pot Stickers, or the Lychee Red Bean Paste Sesame Ball.

Barbecued & Roasted

Red 8 Asian Restaurant has an entire section dedicated to Hong Kong-style Barbecue. Try the Crispy Roasted Pork Belly, Assorted Barbecue Platter, or Cantonese Pipa Duck. It is all so succulent and decadent.

Congee

Congee is a rice porridge, though there are several different variations. Their flavors include Pork & Preserved Egg Congee, Abalone Congee, Chicken or Beef Congee, and of course, plain congee.

Entrees

Entrees at Red 8 Asian Restaurant range from Mongolian Beef and Stewed Beef Brisket with Radish to Sweet & Sour Pork, Cashew Chicken with cashew nuts, and Beef Tenderloin in a Black Pepper Sauce.

Seafood

Though technically still entrees themselves, seafood selections are divided into their own category at Red 8 Asian Restaurant. Get Live Lobster with your choice of Ginger & Onion Style or Steamed with Garlic Sauce, Chilean Sea Bass, which you can get grilled with Honey, Salt & Pepper or Steamed with Soy Sauce, or Sichuan Scallops with Chinese Eggplant. No matter the dish you choose, you are sure to find a new favorite!

Wynn Macau Noodles

The Wynn Macau Noodles are a specialty hailing from the Wynn Hotel Macau near Hong Kong. They come with your choices and are so good they have made their way to Wynn Las Vegas. 

Choose the type of noodles you want from selections like Udon, Egg Noodles, Handmade Chinese Fettuccini, or Flat Noodles, then select whether you want your noodles served in soup or with a sauce. In soup selections, you can choose proteins like the Pork & Shrimp Dumpling, Fish Balls & Fish Cakes, or Singaporean Seafood Laksa. For sauce selections, you can choose between Stewed Tomato and Egg or Classic Dan Dan Noodles with Pork.

Wok-Fried Noodles

The Wok Fried Noodles section on the menu consists of Cantonese noodle dishes plus selections like Pad Thai. Go with Curry Singapore Vermicelli or Chow Mein. You’re able to choose your proteins for many of the noodle dishes as well.

Fried Rice

When you think of fried rice, you likely think of a standard offering at a local Chinese restaurant, though Red 8 Asian Restaurant at the Wynn takes it up a notch. For instance, you can get XO Sauce Yangzhou Style featuring shrimp and barbecued pork in addition to offerings like Dry Shredded Scallops & Egg Whites or Hainanese Chicken with Fragrant Rice.

Beverages

In addition to a full bar, there are a lot of non-alcoholic beverages offered to complement your lunch or dinner.

Hot & Cold Beverages

When it comes to hot and cold beverages, you can get espresso, soy milk, coffee, as well as iced tea.

Tea

The tea selection is truly wonderful and a highlight of the beverage menu. There are two choices of green teas and black teas, plus boba teas. Boba teas range from Thai coffee and Thai Tea to Vietnamese Ice Coffee and Traditional Milk Tea.

Desserts

Of course, no meal is complete without a delicious dessert. Red 8 has a unique dessert menu featuring offerings such as Black Sesame Soup, Chilled Cream of Sago, and Crispy Banana Rolls with Coconut Ice Cream.

Those with dietary restrictions are not left out. However, keep in mind in Asian cuisine that, sesame oil is used in a majority of dishes, so if you have an allergy, it can be difficult to find a dish to eat.

Gluten-Free Options

Because there are selections like rice noodles, fried rice dishes, and congee, it is relatively easy to find gluten-free choices. However, keep in mind that there may be certain toppings or additions to otherwise gluten-free dishes that add gluten, so always notify your server so they can offer recommendations.

Vegetarian/Vegan Options

Vegan and vegetarian menu options are clearly marked on the menu. In fact, there is even an entire section of vegan dim sum featuring three delicious choices.

You can also get vegetarian dishes that are mixed in with other offerings like the Marinated Cucumber, which is essentially a refreshing cucumber salad, Gardein Cashew Chicken with celery, ginger, and mushrooms, and Vegetable Fried Brown Rice.

Red 8 feels very luxurious though it is technically only rated as a “two dollars sign” lunch and dinner spot.

For instance, dim sum is priced per order, often coming with about three pieces for around $8 to $13. Appetizers cost around the same range. The Hong Kong-style Barbecue gets a bit pricier, averaging around $30. The entrees are about $25, though, of course, seafood selections are always priced quite a bit higher than chicken or beef.

Overall, Red 8 has fair pricing for a unique restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip.

Reviews of Red 8 Asian Restaurant always rave about the amazing food and pleasant service. The portions are also quite large, which is mentioned as a positive in a review or two as well.

Occasionally reviews do note that they had to wait a bit for a table to eat dinner and that the vegan selections aren’t as flavorful as other dishes on the menu. Despite these small criticisms, most guests enjoy their experience at Red 8 at Wynn Las Vegas.

Like many of the restaurants at Wynn Las Vegas, there is a dress code required at Red 8. Despite its elevated atmosphere, the restaurant only requires resort casual attire meaning that swimsuits and pajamas are not permitted, but shorts and standard street clothes are just fine.

Red 8 Asian Restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, the restaurant still opens at 11:30 a.m., though it stays open until midnight.
