Scotch 80 Prime at the Palms Hotel is a steakhouse that’s filled to the brim with classic Las Vegas charm while featuring a decadent menu of elevated steakhouse dishes with a modern twist.
In a restaurant that balances the line between sophisticated and sensual, Scotch 80 Prime Palms Las Vegas offers an exquisite dining experience.
Ambiance
The ambiance of Scotch 80 Prime is very intentional. The restaurant pays homage to the Scotch 80s neighborhood, which is an area spanning 80 acres that sits just north of the Palms.
The land was purchased with the funding of Scottish investors and later became home to some of the most prominent Vegas figures and Vegas icons. A sampling of the many celebrities includes Jerry Lewis, Howard Hughes, and other casino titans.
It’s no wonder the opening team had such a beautiful restaurant in mind. The decor is a warm and intimate design, where the views from every table feature rich wood textures, the restaurant’s bar, and fine art throughout.
The dining room’s central design features a large statement window. The window offers passersby just enough of a glimpse inside to make them curious and intrigued to learn more.
In a city where drama and flair seem to be priorities for restaurant decor, Scotch 80 Prime stands out for its sophistication and intimacy.
Dinner Menu
The Steaks & Seafood
Scotch 80 Prime Palms Las Vegas offers an exquisite selection of steaks. These include offering wood-grilled prime steaks from the finest American ranchers and beautiful certified Japanese Kobe beef. This is definitely where Scotch 80 Prime shines. Their steaks, cooked perfectly, have received more than one wonderful review from us.
The American steaks include selections like a Californian filet mignon, a dry-aged New York strip, among other selections of fine dry-aged steaks.
For the most exquisite steakhouse experience, Scotch 80 Prime offers a collection of boutique Japanese-certified Wagyu steaks.
For the ultimate in decadence, go ahead and splurge on the A5 Craft Wagyu Flight. It’s one of the most expensive items you’ll find on a lot of menus in Las Vegas, but it’s a once-in-a-lifetime splurge that’s worth it.
Of course, there are main dishes that aren’t steak or seafood, like the Colorado lamb chops and free-range chicken.
We have to admit that the sides to go along with steaks are equally decadent. Our favorites are the lobster fried rice and millionaire’s maccheroni with black truffle cream, poached egg, and gold leaf.
Scotch 80 Prime offers the finest sustainable seafood. Seafood lovers won’t be disappointed, with delicious and delicate selections from appetizers to main entrees.
The filet carpaccio from the raw menu, with angus filet, Spanish octopus, arugula, tapenade, lemon, and crostini, is a wonderful way to begin a meal, as is the seafood tower with Maine lobster, Alaskan king crab legs, jumbo shrimp, and oysters.
If you enjoy crab cakes, these are among some of the best we’ve had, and they’re served with a pickled mushroom salad. For seafood entrees, the miso-glazed Chilean sea bass is perfect.
Vegetarian & Vegan Options
One of the things that we really love about the menu at Scotch 80 Prime Palms Hotel is that they offer a really nice menu of vegetarian and vegan options. We’ve found with many steakhouses, there are only a couple of non-meat options, and they almost feel like an afterthought. This isn’t the case at Scotch 80 Prime.
The fresh vegetable lumpia is delicious, as is the oyster mushroom tempura and wood-fired cauliflower steak. This is only a sampling of what’s on this special menu.
Social Hour Menu
Instead of the typical happy hour, Scotch 80 Prime Palms Las Vegas offers something they call “Social Hour.” This social hour happens Monday thru Thursday from 5 pm until 6:30 pm and again from 8:30 mpm to 10 pm. And they recently announced a half price menu for Social Hour!
Among the small plates you can enjoy at a discounted price include Wagyu Truffle Fries with Brie Fondue, Shrimp Toast with Chili Jam Aioli, and Scallops & Bacon. Each of these selections is about $15 or less, which is a great deal.
For cocktails, the scotch flight is very popular. Select three scotch whiskies from an impressive list for only $24. Granted, there aren’t any of the rare and vintage marks on this list, but the selection is still really nice.
Another detail that sets Scotch 80 Prime Palms Las Vegas apart from the classic steakhouse experience is the fact that they’ve added live entertainment to the lineup.
Wednesday and Thursday evenings bring live piano to the scene, while a DJ is on-site to play music on Fridays and Saturdays for a more energetic vibe.
