The Henry Las Vegas is an American eatery with casual upscale charm that’s known as much for its brunch menu as it is for late-night dining on the Las Vegas Strip. The savory aromas tempted us from the moment we walked in, and the untraditional methods of presentation were visually stimulating as well.
If there’s such a thing as comfort food blended with sophisticated Las Vegas dining, The Henry at the Cosmopolitan is it, even if you’re just looking for a satisfying late-night snack.
Atmosphere
When you walk into The Henry, swanky is the first word that comes to mind. This is a modern American eatery, but the restaurant where fun presentations combine with heightened senses, colorful accents, and eclectic charm. It’s a diner with a unique twist on the favorites, but the casual upscale charm makes it feel like so much more.
Menus
When it comes to Las Vegas Strip cuisine, The Henry does absolutely amazing comfort food like nobody else. We enjoy the restaurant’s unique twist on comfort food and how the colorful accents and eclectic presentations combine with savory aromas to stimulate all our senses.
Is this description going a little overboard for a restaurant that serves comfort food? We don’t think so, but you’ll have to judge for yourself.
Breakfast
There’s a reason why The Henry is a favorite place for breakfast at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and you’ll understand why once you take a look at the menu.
The short rib eggs benedict is one of the signature dishes at The Henry, and it’s next to impossible to find a bad review about it. The short rib benedict is braised short rib over hash browns that is then topped with soft poached eggs and hollandaise sauce.
Henry’s brioche French toast is another favorite. The French toast is offered topped with whipped butter, fresh berries, banana, Nutella, maple syrup, and whipped cream. So decadent – it’s like dessert for breakfast!
Of course, there are also all the usual suspects for a breakfast menu. You’ll find assortments of seasonal fruit, yogurt parfaits, beignets (yum!), a pull-apart Elvis donut that’s topped with candied bacon and served with banana dipping sauce, classic egg dishes, omelets, and more.
Brunch
The Henry offers a first-class Sunday brunch, with a menu that offers both the best of the breakfast menu and a sampling of delicious food from the lunch menu as well.
We love the made-to-order beignets with lemon curd that happen to go just fabulously with the champagne Supernova cocktail. If you’re a fan of sweets for brunch, the bananas foster pancakes, brioche French toast, and warm banana bread (especially good with a perfect cup of coffee) are all favorites.
For lovers of a savory brunch, our favorites that we like to recommend include smoked salmon toast, steak and eggs, grilled cheese & tomato soup, and the spicy truffle chicken sandwich. For a healthier option, the superfood salad is top-notch.
Lunch
When you’re in the mood for a lively lunch at the Cosmopolitan, the Henry is the place to be! We love the vibe as much as we love to eat the food! We’re big fans of the French onion soup with melted gruyere, accompanied by The Henry Cobb salad.
There’s still a sampling of the breakfast all-day items on this menu, but mostly, it’s traditional lunch favorites with a unique twist or two thrown into the mix.
The tater top nachos earn an enthusiast two thumbs up from us, as does the French dip sandwich and veggie burger with bistro sauce. If you’re in the mood for a treat after your meal, definitely treat yourself to the chocolate fudge cake.
Late Night
The Henry isn’t a place where you can get dinner in Las Vegas. They have split operating hours, so they’re open in the morning & afternoon, then they close but open again for late-night dining.
In many ways, the late-night menu resembles the lunch menu. There’s a sampling of everything, including some breakfast selections, appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts.
Cocktails
Ok, there’s no shortage of places to enjoy cuisine and cocktails at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, but we love how The Henry offers cocktails served in fun and untraditional methods. The drinks are wonderful, but the eclectic presentations are often what puts them over the top.
The flavor combinations of the drinks are creative and inspired. Hot Under the Collar is a take on the traditional bloody mary but is made with green chile vodka and garnished with rosemary and bacon.
The Wind Up Bird is this unique combination of grapefruit vodka, ginger beer, honeysuckle & peppercorn syrup, basil syrup, and lemon juice.
Not only have we enjoyed the drinks, but having a cocktail at The Henry has also inspired us to be a little more creative when crafting our own drinks at home.
If you’re not into fancy drinks, The Henry also offers a nice selection of wine and beer.
Price
We think the prices at The Henry are very affordable, especially for the quality of the food and the presentation. You’d be hard-pressed to find similar dishes in Las Vegas at such a good price point.
Most entrees and sandwiches, regardless of which menu you’re ordering from, cost in the range of $15-$25. Appetizers are under $20, and extra sides are all well under $10. Non-alcoholic drinks, including mocktails, are also under $10.
The specialty cocktails served at The Henry cost about $17, so if you’re on a budget, you might not want to order more than one. That said, this really isn’t out of the normal price range for a cocktail at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
Dress Code
While The Henry at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas offers an elegant, casual atmosphere, what you’re really experiencing is an elevated neighborhood dining experience. As far as the dress code is concerned, you don’t want to dress “too” casually, but you don’t need to completely glam it up, either.
The Henry has a pretty strict resort attire dress code. The list of things they don’t allow includes hoodies or hooded shirts and face painting. Swimsuits with covers can be worn outside, but they aren’t permitted inside The Henry. In other words, your top and bottom should be covered.
Hours
It used to be that you could say that The Henry was the round-the-clock spot to eat delicious food in Las Vegas. However, the restaurant isn’t a round-the-clock spot anymore since they’re no longer open 24 hours.
This modern American eatery is still open for overnight dining on most nights, but they do close for a few hours between lunch and late-night dining.
While we’ve noticed that The Henry’s hours sometimes change, the most recent that we’ve found is that they’re open from midnight until 2 pm and then 10 pm until midnight on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. On all other days of the week, the restaurant is open from midnight until 2 pm and then from 11 pm until midnight.
This gets a little confusing, but even though they close at midnight, they’re still open all night because the new day starts after the stroke of 12 on the clock.
