Things to Consider When Selecting A Las Vegas Airbnb
Location
Whether you stay at a hotel or a vacation rental, location is always one of the first things you should consider.
This is especially true in Las Vegas because while there are a lot of great things to do throughout the city, many of the popular attractions are located on the famous Las Vegas Strip and downtown.
Depending on what is on your agenda, you may want to consider something within walking distance to these areas so that you don’t have to worry about transportation and struggle to try to find free parking.
Amenities
One of the benefits of vacation rentals is that they often offer more amenities than what you may get in a standard hotel room. For instance, a private pool is an amenity available at several vacation rentals in Las Vegas that you likely won’t get at the hotel properties.
However, the opposite can be true as well. A Las Vegas hotel may offer more amenities than some Las Vegas Airbnbs, so always check what is included in your stay!
Pricing
In the past year or two, the pricing of Airbnbs has gone up, so while they used to be one of the most affordable accommodation options, with various fees, they can become more expensive. It is worth the effort to compare prices to hotels before booking, but don’t forget that most hotels have resort fees in Las Vegas.
One situation where Airbnb does become cheaper than hotels in Las Vegas is when you have a large group that you can split the cost of an entire vacation home with versus each person having to pay for an individual hotel room.
Minimum Stays
As you might have noticed, some vacation rentals in Las Vegas require a minimum stay. Sometimes the minimum is between two and five days which is to help the host not have to turn over the property as often, but other times, there is a 30 or 31-day minimum.
The monthly minimum is because Las Vegas previously had outlawed new short-term rentals, only allowing ones that were grandfathered in, so to get around it, hosts had to implement at least a 30-day minimum.
However, in June 2022, Las Vegas city commissioners approved new short-term rental rules and will begin accepting applications in September 2022, so some Airbnbs in Las Vegas may drop their minimum stay requirements.
FAQs
Is Airbnb illegal in Las Vegas?
Establishing a new Airbnb property in Las Vegas is now illegal, but properties previously established are still legal to operate. This will be changing in the fall of 2022.
Is Airbnb cheaper than a hotel in Vegas?

Bottom Line
Airbnbs in Las Vegas can be a great alternative to hotels, especially if you are traveling with kids, pets, or a big group. They are also an option for those looking for a unique experience or if you want to feel at home while away from home.
